Grande Ronde Symphony Performs Music of the World at McKenzie Theater
La Grande's Grande Ronde Symphony will perform "Music of the World" at EOU's McKenzie Theater March 11, featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams and a program of familiar and lesser-known works.

The Grande Ronde Symphony will present "Music of the World" at Eastern Oregon University's McKenzie Theater in La Grande, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 and listed on the symphony's event page as running until 9:00 p.m. The concert is billed as part of the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert - 2025-2026 Season and will mix well-known classical pieces with lesser-known selections.
Program notes published by the symphony and a press release highlight English folk songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams as a feature of the March 11 program. The symphony will also perform English folk songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams, which "transports us through the countryside with Scottish romps to the county of Somerset for the upbeat ending," according to a press release. The event listing on the orchestra's website frames the March performance within the 2025-2026 season calendar.
A public preview is scheduled the evening before the concert. "Music Notes with Sam" will take place Tuesday, March 10 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Valley Venue, 115 Depot St. Community members will have a sneak peek of the music that will be presented at the March 11 concert while enjoying a beverage and snacks prepared by Chef Merlyn. Also, Ross will share his thoughts on the music, along with notes about the composers. Tickets for the preview are $10 and available on the symphony's website.
Main-concert ticket prices are set at $15 adults, $12 seniors, $5 college students and $1 for students younger than 18. Physical tickets can be purchased at Betty's Books in Baker City and Direct Music Source in La Grande, and tickets are also available through the symphony's online ticket page.
