Hagadone Medical Clinic Transferred to Kootenai Health Effective July 1
Kootenai Health will take over management of the Hagadone Medical Clinic July 1, bringing the onsite clinic at The Coeur d’Alene Resort that serves 1,931 Hagadone employees into its system.

Coeur d’Alene, Effective July 1, Kootenai Health will assume management of the Hagadone Medical Clinic, the onsite health center located on the second floor of The Resort Plaza Shops at The Coeur d’Alene Resort that serves Hagadone Corporation’s 1,931 employees and eligible dependents.
Hagadone leaders framed the move as a partnership to expand access and coordination. Clint Schroeder, president of Hagadone’s Communications Division, said, “Kootenai Health has served our community for decades and is nationally recognized for clinical excellence and patient-centered care. By aligning our clinic with the region’s leading health system, we are expanding access, strengthening care coordination, and reinforcing our long-term commitment to our team members and their families.” Bill Reagan, president of Hagadone’s Hospitality Division, added, “Our team members are our top priority. This partnership ensures that as healthcare evolves, our benefits evolve with it. We are building a stronger, smarter, and more connected healthcare experience for the people who power our company every day.”
Kootenai Health’s CEO Jamie Smith said the system will bring coordinated specialty care to Hagadone employees and families: “We are honored to partner with Hagadone Corporation to support the health of their employees and families. By bringing the Hagadone Medical Clinic into the Kootenai Health system, we can offer coordinated, high-quality care close to home while preserving the personalized experience patients expect.” CdA Press materials list tangible patient benefits under Kootenai Health management including “Access to Kootenai Health’s broader network of specialty providers” and “Enhanced care coordination across the full healthcare journey.”
The Hagadone Medical Clinic opened in August 2023 and was operated initially by PMR Healthcare. At opening the clinic featured four exam rooms, an on-site pharmacy and a lab; the pharmacy stocked about 300 medicines for common needs. BusinessJournalNorthIdaho reported the clinic provided primary and preventative care without co-pays or deductibles to Hagadone employees when it launched.
Regional employer-clinic activity has accelerated in recent years. Kootenai Member Health and Wellness Clinic opened in October 2024 to serve about 2,000 Kootenai County employees and their families, operated by PMR Healthcare and Alliant Healthcare. Kootenai County commissioners voted unanimously in November to approve a physician stipend of $45,000 per month beginning Jan. 1 and budgeted $100,000 per month for clinical services as the county aims to open an employee clinic in March; KREM reported PMR Healthcare was retained to operate that clinic.
Providers and clinic operators have emphasized cost control and early intervention. Brittney Weber of PMR Healthcare noted the value of quick access to primary care, saying, “When it comes to getting early diagnoses before medical issues get worse, it makes such a huge difference.” That argument underpins the employer-clinic model that Hagadone and Kootenai County have pursued.
The transfer to Kootenai Health places the small Hagadone clinic within a broader regional network that includes the Kootenai Care Network, which manages eight value-based care contracts and coordinates care for over 65,000 patients through roughly 700 providers. The Kootenai Care Network’s executive director, identified only as Guel, brings a background leading MultiCare Connected Care’s Clinically Integrated Network, military medical leadership, and graduate training in healthcare administration; Guel plans to join the Idaho chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2026.
Sources did not specify whether PMR Healthcare will retain an operational role after July 1 or whether the no-copay, no-deductible structure at the Hagadone clinic will change under Kootenai Health; Hagadone and Kootenai Health say eligible employees and dependents will continue to receive high-quality, compassionate care at the clinic as it joins the health system. The management transfer on July 1 marks the latest step in a local trend toward employer-linked clinics and tighter integration with regional health systems.
