Hi‑Wire and NoDa Launch Odyssey IPA March 27, Proceeds Aid Helene Recovery
Hi‑Wire and NoDa are releasing Odyssey IPA on March 27, a 6.5% hazy IPA whose proceeds will support ARCHR's Hurricane Helene recovery work.

Hi‑Wire Brewing and NoDa Brewing are teaming up to release Odyssey IPA, a hazy, juicy 6.5% ABV IPA that debuts March 27 in four‑packs of 16‑ounce cans and on draft. A portion of sales from cans and pours will benefit ARCHR, the Asheville Regional Coalition for Home Repair, which provides no‑cost repairs to qualified low‑income families still rebuilding from Hurricane Helene’s flooding.
Odyssey IPA’s hop bill centers on Dolcita, Citra, and Mosaic, with advanced hop products Lupocore and Prysma supplied by John I. Haas to extend hop aroma and flavor. Lupocore, introduced in 2025, is an enhanced hop pellet and Prysma is a hop‑derived liquid product intended to deliver long‑lasting hop character. The beer is being positioned as a soft‑bitterness, bright‑hop hazy that showcases whole hops alongside these concentrated hop formats.
Hi‑Wire and NoDa will sell the beer at both breweries’ taprooms and through Hi‑Wire’s eight‑state distribution footprint; availability begins March 27 and continues while supplies last. Ingredient and material donations from John I. Haas, Country Malt Group, and Hart Print helped make the release possible, allowing the collaboration to move forward without the usual full cost burden for a special run.
The release carries a backstory of community assistance. Hurricane Helene in September 2024 inflicted heavy damage on Hi‑Wire’s River Arts District facility, including the loss of 1.3 million unfilled cans, 200,000 filled cans, and several weeks of production capacity. NoDa responded with hands‑on aid, shipping trucks of supplies to Asheville and contract‑brewing Hi‑Wire brands. NoDa brewed more than 1,000 barrels of Hi‑Wire beer while Asheville’s water and production were offline, including Hi‑Pitch, Lo‑Pitch, and Hazy Pitch IPAs under contract to keep Hi‑Wire products on shelves.
Peter Batinski, Head Brewer at Hi‑Wire, framed the collaboration as repayment and community solidarity: “NoDa had our backs when things were pretty dark around here. Getting to brew this beer with them and raise money for folks still rebuilding, that’s what the beer community is all about.”
Media and local beer fans can attend a special brew day and interview opportunity on February 27 at 10:30 AM at Hi‑Wire Brewing Biltmore Village, 2A Huntsman Place, Asheville, NC 28803. Representatives from Hi‑Wire, NoDa, and ARCHR will be available for interviews and photos.
For taproom regulars and retail buyers, Odyssey IPA is both a drinking opportunity and a way to support continuing recovery work: buy a four‑pack or grab a pint at either taproom or participating retailers across Hi‑Wire’s network beginning March 27, with a share of proceeds going to ARCHR’s no‑cost repair efforts for families still impacted by Helene.
