Holly Springs Reopens Town Hall and Parks Monday at 10 a.m.
Holly Springs reopens town hall and Parks & Recreation facilities at 10 a.m. Monday; garbage and recycling collection will run on a one-day delay this week.

The Town of Holly Springs announced that Town Hall and its Parks & Recreation facilities, including the Hunt Recreation Center, Bass Lake Park and the Cultural Center, will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, following winter weather and road-condition impacts, according to a notice posted on the town’s official website.
The town’s post lays out immediate service changes residents should expect. "Garbage & recycling collection is operating on a one-day delay for all customers," the notice says. It adds that "yard waste cart pickup and leaf zone collection are on schedule for the week" and that "Christmas tree pickup is extended through Feb. 5 due to inclement weather." The town also advised residents to help crews by removing "all garbage and recycling bins from the curb once waste has been collected."
Local transit service will resume on a delayed timetable. "The Hopper will begin service at Noon," the town notice states. Town Public Works crews are continuing snow removal work; the website says crews "follow a strategic clearing priority," though the post did not include the priority sequence used for clearing streets.
There is an incomplete social media post in circulation that appears to reference a reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 27; that Instagram excerpt is truncated and lacks account attribution. The town’s official website, which the municipality updated on Feb. 1, provides the authoritative schedule for municipal facilities and collection services and should be treated as the definitive source for local operations.
To avoid confusion between jurisdictions, note that a separate television report published by FOX13 Memphis describes storm damage and utility restoration in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Those accounts concern different officials and operations. FOX13 quoted Michael Watson, a consultant with the Holly Springs Utility Department in Mississippi: "We have extensive damage," and "We are working to get essential facilities today." Watson also said, "We have at least sixty outside workers and associated equipment in route. They should start arriving today," and that "City of Ashland and Benton County sustained heavy damage. We have a crew there working to restore power to their water pumps." FOX13 reported crews were working to restore power at five substations in that jurisdiction.
For Wake County residents, the practical takeaway is straightforward: plan for municipal buildings and parks to open at 10 a.m. Monday, expect household garbage and recycling to be collected one day later than usual this week, and note that yard waste and leaf collection remain on schedule. Remove collection bins from curbs after pickup to support snow-clearing operations, and monitor the Town of Holly Springs’ official communications for any further schedule changes or facility updates.
