Housing America to Host First Annual Housing Community Fair in Somerton
Housing America will host a free, family-friendly Housing Community Fair in Somerton to connect residents with housing resources, counseling and USDA loan pre-approvals.

Housing America Corporation will host its 1st Annual Housing Community Fair in Somerton, bringing 25 local agencies and onsite housing services to the organization’s office at 130 N. State Avenue. The free event runs Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to the public; families are specifically encouraged to attend.
Attendees will be able to speak directly with HAC’s certified housing counselors, who will provide housing counseling services and conduct USDA loan pre-approvals. The fair will also feature free food and raffle prizes as part of a community outreach push to reduce barriers to safe, decent, and affordable housing in Yuma County. Housing America lists its mailing address as 130 N. State Avenue (P.O. Box 600), Somerton, AZ 85350, and can be reached by phone at (928) 627-4221. Media contact is Yolanda Galindo, Executive Director, at ygalindo@hacorp.org or (928) 627-4221.
“Our goal is to connect families with the resources they need for safe, decent, and affordable housing,” said Yolanda Galindo, Executive Director of Housing America Corporation. “This fair is about education, connection, and empowering families with the tools they need to achieve stable and healthy housing.”
Housing America’s board of directors includes Manuel Figueroa as president, Ana Robles as secretary, and members Carol Castro, Rosa Varela and Sandra Jones. The organization says the fair will bring together 25 local agencies and service providers to offer a broad set of housing-related supports; specific participant names were not released in advance.
For local residents, the fair offers practical benefits. Certified housing counseling can point prospective buyers toward mortgage and down-payment resources, while on-the-spot USDA loan pre-approvals can speed the homebuying process for households that qualify for rural mortgage assistance. Free on-site services also reduce friction for renters and low-income households seeking guidance on stability and options, potentially lowering the transaction costs that keep some families from pursuing homeownership.
The event is designed as drop-in friendly, though attendees who want more detailed follow-up may wish to contact Housing America in advance to learn what documents to bring for USDA pre-approval and counseling. For immediate questions or to request additional accommodations, call (928) 627-4221 or email ygalindo@hacorp.org.
The fair is the first in what Housing America describes as an annual effort to centralize housing help in Somerton; for residents trying to move from renting to owning or simply stabilize current housing arrangements, the Feb. 19 event offers a concentrated set of services and local contacts to take the next step.
