Huntington Station massage worker arrested on felony, prostitution charges
A worker at The Spot in Huntington Station was arrested Jan. 12 on felony and misdemeanor charges following community complaints. Town inspectors issued violations to the business, affecting local compliance and safety.

Suffolk County Police and Town of Huntington officials carried out an enforcement action Jan. 12 at The Spot, a massage business located at 523 East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, after receiving complaints from the community. Officers from the Second Precinct Investigative Unit, accompanied by the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Ordinance Inspector, arrested one employee and issued violations to the business.
Police charged the employee, identified as 52-year-old Song Wha Jang of Floral Park, with two counts of Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, a felony, and two counts of Prostitution, misdemeanors. Jang was given a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip.
The coordinated action highlights the interplay between criminal enforcement and municipal code oversight along the East Jericho Turnpike corridor, a busy commercial stretch that residents and officials watch closely for public safety and quality-of-life issues. The Town of Huntington’s decision to issue several violations to the business signals possible civil or administrative follow-up that could include fines, permit reviews, or further inspections by town authorities.
For local residents, the incident underscores how community reports can prompt joint responses from county police and town inspectors. Neighborhood complaints initiated the operation, and the involvement of both the fire marshal and ordinance inspector indicates that enforcement can extend beyond criminal charges to address building, fire safety, or licensing concerns tied to a commercial property.
The case will move through the First District Court system in Central Islip, where arraignment is the next formal step. A Desk Appearance Ticket ordinarily allows a person to be released pending that court appearance, keeping the matter on the criminal calendar without extended pre-arraignment detention. The outcome of both the criminal case and any town code actions will determine whether the business remains open, faces penalties, or undergoes other regulatory measures.
Residents who have ongoing concerns about local businesses or notice suspected illegal activity are encouraged to contact Suffolk County Police or Town of Huntington enforcement channels to report complaints, so authorities can evaluate and, if necessary, take action. The result of this enforcement action will be watched locally for its effect on neighborhood safety, commercial accountability, and the regulatory oversight of massage establishments in Huntington Station.
