KTMPO Launches Regional Active Transportation Plan; Public Comments Due April 13

The Killeen‑Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization is soliciting public comment on a Proposed Regional Active Transportation Plan, with the formal comment period running February 23 at 12:01 a.m. through April 13, 2026 at 12:00 a.m., and a hard deadline that comments must be received or postmarked by Monday, April 13, 2026 to be included in the official record.

Copperas Cove posted a media release on February 27, 2026 asking residents to “please consider completing the survey and sharing this information with others to complete as well,” and KTMPO has made the community survey available in English and Spanish with headings encouraging people to “Guide the Future of Public Transit, Trails and Sidewalks” and “Orientar el futuro del transporte público, los senderos y las aceras.” KTMPO and local outlets explicitly invited “residents, trail users, paddlers, horseback riders, cyclists, walkers, people with disabilities, and everyone who moves through our region to help guide the future of active transportation.” FOX 44 also summarized the outreach, saying, “Your input will directly influence the plan from day one.”
