Laramie Hosts Final Indoor Track Meets as Scoreboard Updated Feb. 27
Laramie set three school records at UW’s War Memorial Fieldhouse as WyoPreps posted a statewide indoor track scoreboard update on Feb. 27.

Laramie High athletes rewrote their record book at the University of Wyoming War Memorial Fieldhouse, where the girls scored 186 points and the boys posted 157 in a home meet that produced three school records and 11 event victories. The performances came as WyoPreps posted a statewide indoor track scoreboard update on Feb. 27 during the final regular‑season week.
WyoPreps framed the Feb. 27 slate as the last tune‑up before the state championships in Gillette next weekend, noting two indoor meets were held that day in Gillette and Laramie. The Week 7 schedule for Friday, Feb. 27 listed teams attending that day as Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Green River, Lander, Laramie, Mountain View, Natrona County, Rawlins and Rock Springs; the schedule page also stated that results were not posted yet.
The Laramie meets used the Hager‑LeBar Indoor Track and Field Venue inside the War Memorial Fieldhouse, with MileSplit listing start times at 9:00 a.m. for the 307 Invitational and for a Last Chance Qualifier 26 that begins field and track events at 9 a.m. MileSplit’s meet page spelled out host rules: only WHSAA‑sanctioned Wyoming high schools may compete, no unattached athletes, $125 per team or $7 per athlete entry fees (schools bringing both girls and boys teams charged $250), spikes limited to 3/16", and payment to be brought to the timing platform near the finish line. The facility is described as having a six‑lane, 42‑inch straightaway and four circular lanes for longer events 160 meters in length.
Individual marks from the Laramie meet highlighted the depth behind the team scores. The Laramie 4x800 quartet of MacKenna Schabron, Sophia Gonzales, Libbie Roesler and Giraldo opened the meet in 9:52.47, topping the 9:53.51 time set by Ashley Dodds, Ella DeWolf, Sierra Levenne and Cassidy Meade in 2013. Giraldo reflected on the effort: “I just went for it and I’m glad I did.” She added, “I think it is more about self-confidence. I was really trying to focus on improving myself this season because last year I was just sick all the time. So, I never really (recorded personal bests) or had any good times.”
Sprinter Ava Wallhead set the girls 55‑meter school record in 7.26 seconds and later won the 200 in 25.48; she said, “I feel like I can keep pushing and try to beat it again.” Kate Lewis threw a school‑record 42 feet, 7 inches in the shot put, improving her own 2025 mark by five inches. On the boys side AJ Sirdoreus captured the triple jump at 44‑6½. WyoSports photo captions also document Jesse McCarty and Daniel Fertig competing in the boys 55‑meter hurdles at the 307 Invitational on Jan. 31, 2026.
MileSplit and Laramie Timing hosted live results and registration pages for the 307 Invitational, and WyoPreps continues to aggregate weekly indoor scoreboards (Week 1–7). With the regular season closed, attention now turns to the state championships in Gillette and to meet hosts and timing crews finalizing entries and marks ahead of the postseason.
