Love Is Blind Star Lauren Speed Wins $25K Over Botched Baby Shower
Lauren Speed-Hamilton paid $13,315 for a luxury baby shower that started an hour late. A court awarded her nearly $25K after the planner never responded to the lawsuit.

Lauren Speed-Hamilton paid $13,315.73 for what event planner Marissa Lozada marketed as a luxury, full-service baby shower experience, but what she allegedly got was something far less polished. The August 2025 event began nearly an hour late, featuring incomplete décor and visible disorganization as staff rushed to set up. Now, a court has sided firmly with the "Love Is Blind" star, awarding her nearly $25,000.
Instead of apologizing, Speed-Hamilton says Lozada shifted the blame and downplayed the problems. Speed-Hamilton claims Lozada didn't remedy the situation or take her offer of a 40% refund, which Lauren asked for in a demand letter sent back in September. When that attempt at resolution went nowhere, she took the matter to court.
The court ultimately ruled in Speed-Hamilton's favor after Lozada did not respond to the lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment. Speed-Hamilton was awarded almost double what she paid for the baby shower, receiving nearly $25,000 in damages. Court documents described the total payout as covering both damages and attorney's fees.
Lozada has not quietly accepted the ruling. "I am aware of the claims that have been filed and am actively addressing them through the legal system. While I cannot comment on specific details at this time, I strongly disagree with the allegations and look forward to resolving this matter appropriately. I appreciate the opportunity to have the full context brought to light," she told TMZ.
While the court decision marks a legal victory for Speed-Hamilton, the dispute may not be fully resolved as further proceedings could follow.
The legal win comes months after Speed-Hamilton welcomed her first child, a son named Ezra, with her husband Cameron Hamilton in October 2025. The couple first met and married during the debut season of the Netflix series, becoming one of its most recognizable success stories. Lauren had spoken openly about the road to parenthood, saying, "It's been a long time coming. We've literally been trying to get pregnant for four years."
The case serves as a stark illustration of how disputes over contracted event services can escalate when a vendor fails to deliver on a written agreement. Speed-Hamilton paid a five-figure sum for a curated luxury experience; what she received, according to court documents, was chaos and deflection. Whether Lozada mounts a successful legal challenge to the default judgment will determine whether this story has a final chapter still to come.
