Main Event Opening First New York Location at Deer Park May 18

Main Event announced it will open its first New York state location on May 18, 2026, at Tanger Outlets Deer Park, occupying a 46,189-square-foot storefront next to Saks Off 5th and Regal Cinemas. The company described the venue as a family entertainment concept combining dining and recreation in a space larger than many single retailers at the 739,000-square-foot outlet center.

The 46,189-square-foot facility will include bowling lanes, multi-level laser tag arenas, arcade games, billiards and gravity ropes courses, and will feature a chef-inspired kitchen with a craft beverage bar. Tanger Deer Park marketing manager Lisa Samperisi said, “Main Event will provide guests a dynamic new place to play, dine and connect, strengthening Tanger Deer Park’s appeal as a go-to destination for both shopping and entertainment.”

Tanger Deer Park counts more than 100 outlet stores across its 739,000-square-foot campus, and Main Event’s arrival follows a recent renovation and several new openings. In the past month the center added Canada Weather Gear and Toys“R”Us, and other new brand entries this year include Birkenstock, Marc Jacobs and Pandora, signaling a shift toward a mixed retail and entertainment strategy at the mall.

The site plan also includes a separate Nike relocation: the Nike store will move into and expand to a 26,065-square-foot space set to open in spring 2026 near Polo Ralph Lauren, Ugg and Karl Lagerfeld, with enhanced digital elements, an expanded product assortment and immersive zones highlighting Nike’s innovation and sustainability initiatives. Those shifts place Main Event amid both entertainment anchors and upgraded flagship retail footprints within the outlet center.

Main Event is owned by Dave & Buster’s Entertainment Inc., the same parent company that operates Dave & Buster’s locations on Long Island in Islandia and Westbury. An earnings report showed the company suffered a net loss of $42.1 million in the third quarter and a 1.1% drop in revenue compared with the same period last year, although the company has continued opening new Dave & Buster’s and Main Event locations around the country throughout 2025.

The Deer Park Main Event will join a growing list of large-format tenants at Tanger Deer Park and is positioned to change visitor patterns at the mall by adding an entertainment draw to a center that houses more than 100 outlets. With a May 18, 2026 opening date announced, the venue will be one of several mall upgrades slated for early 2026 and will be located specifically adjacent to Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue and Regal Cinemas within the Tanger Outlets Deer Park complex.
