Mamie Gummer settles divorce from Mehar Sethi, marriage nears end

Mamie Gummer has settled her divorce from Mehar Sethi, moving the Los Angeles case toward a final legal end after more than a year of proceedings tied to custody and support. The court filing marks a significant step in formally dissolving a marriage that began in February 2019.

The settlement came through a filing submitted to a Los Angeles court on Friday, April 25, 2026. Gummer, the oldest daughter of Meryl Streep, had filed for divorce in February 2025 and cited irreconcilable differences. At the time, she sought joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two children, Peter and Mary, and also requested spousal support while asking the court not to award support to Sethi.

The remaining terms of the custody and support arrangement are private, leaving the public record with the fact of settlement but not the financial or parenting details behind it. Sethi is a writer and producer known for BoJack Horseman, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Rick and Morty. Gummer’s divorce is her second; she was previously married to actor Benjamin Walker. Her family history has also drawn scrutiny over separation and marriage in the public eye, after Meryl Streep and Don Gummer said in October 2023 that they had been separated for more than six years and had chosen to live apart.
