Mark Tallant Sr. Arrested on Peeping, Child Exploitation; Multiple Victims, $100,000 Bond

Mark Steven Tallant Sr., 51, is in the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro under a $100,000 secured bond after warrants were obtained March 5 and he was charged with three counts of felony secret peeping and one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives have identified multiple victims, including at least one juvenile.

Child Crimes Detectives with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Investigative Unit opened the probe March 3 following a patrol deputy’s report, Sheriff Danny H. Rogers said in the agency’s account of the investigation. Warrants were sought and issued on March 5, and Tallant was arrested and formally charged the same day, officials reported.

During the investigation, detectives learned Tallant was in possession of videos containing child sexual abuse material, and investigators said further inquiry confirmed evidence supporting the allegations. The sheriff’s office attributed investigative steps to its Child Crimes Detectives and Major Crimes Investigative Unit; officials have not released additional details about the alleged material or where it was stored.
