Menominee County resident Nancy Ann Armstrong, 70, dies Jan. 29
Nancy Ann Armstrong, 70, of Keshena, has died; her family and local funeral home say no public services will be held, and online guestbooks are available for memories.

Nancy Ann Armstrong, a longtime Keshena resident known for her sewing, cooking and devotion to pets, died Jan. 29 at age 70. Swedberg Funeral Home & Crematory and Legacy report she passed away in Shawano on that date, while an online memorial site lists Keshena as the place of passing.
Armstrong was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated from WJ Woodham High School and began her working life in retail before moving into hospital work. Swedberg Funeral Home noted, “After working in retail for awhile Nancy began her career as a switchboard operator at Sacred Heart Hospital for 10 years.” That decade-long role anchored a career that preceded a life centered in Menominee County with her husband, Larry Armstrong.
She and Larry were married Feb. 18, 1980, in Pensacola, Florida. Swedberg described their relationship this way: “Nancy was fiercely protective of Larry, and he was protective of Nancy; they truly were soulmates.” The funeral-home notice also said, “Nancy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry; sister, Kathleen Parker; sister-in-law, Sheila Young; nephews, Dominic Trifiletti and Chris (Elisa) Trifiletti; and niece, Aimee Young.” She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Seestedt and her parents, Frederick and Annette Walters.
Community members will find little in the way of public ceremonies. Swedberg and Legacy both state, “Per Nancy’s wishes no services will be held.” The funeral home is handling arrangements. Online memorial pages mirror the funeral-home notice and invite friends and neighbors to leave condolences. Those pages note there is no photo or video yet available and provide opportunities to “Add a Memory,” “Sign the Guestbook,” light a candle, or leave other tributes.

Personal details in the obituary sketch a woman who found joy in everyday skills and companionship. Swedberg wrote, “Throughout the years she had many pets, but each one was very special to her and was her world,” and added, “She always cooked amazing food and could sew clothing and anything.” The obituary also captures her outlook: “Nancy could always see the silver lining in the worst situations.” An online memorial page offers a more poetic remembrance, stating in part, “The memory of Nancy Ann Armstrong of Keshena, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 29, 2026 at the age of 70, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives.”
Readers should note that other obituaries for different people named Nancy Armstrong appear in separate records and are not connected to this Keshena resident. For neighbors who wish to leave memories or express condolences, the funeral-home and memorial pages are available to sign the guestbook and share tributes. The absence of public services means those online remembrances will be the primary way the community marks Armstrong’s life.
