Milestone's Screamer Launches March 26, 2026; Digital Deluxe Unlocks March 23
Milestone's Screamer will release March 26, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic); Digital Deluxe owners get early access March 23 and pre-orders are live now.

Milestone's rebooted arcade racer Screamer will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 26, 2026, with the Digital Deluxe edition granting early access beginning March 23, and pre-orders already available. Players who want online functions should note Milestone's age gate: platform accounts must belong to someone aged 13 or over to access online features.
The release date and a new story trailer were revealed at The Game Awards 2025, where Milestone positioned Screamer as a comeback for one of its most recognizable IPs. Milestone’s product page presents the game with the lines “Look cool Play Fast Impress” and promises “High-speed arcade racing, merciless combat, and a gripping storyline,” alongside platform icons for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, STEAM and Epic Games Store.
Gameplay will hinge on an aggressive hybrid of driving and combat. Gamespress describes an innovative Twin Stick control system and reports that, “The Echo System, a unique feature that connects the narrative to the gameplay, allows players to generate and use Sync and Entropy, the two resources that fuel attack and defensive actions.” Gamegpu reinforces the mechanic’s centrality, writing, “Victory in Screamer will depend on fully mastering the ECHO system, and the races themselves promise to be more than just offensive: the developers confirm the presence of special defenses against opponents, details of which will be revealed later.”
Milestone and coverage from Gamegpu frame the worldbuilding in neon terms: the game is set in the city of Neo Rey. As Gamegpu puts it, “Screamer takes place in the city of Neo Rey, a futuristic arena inspired by the aesthetics of anime allen. Here, racing has ceased to be a sport and has become a street fight between 'Screamers'—fearless drivers who settle their differences not with words, but with blows on the track. For some, it's a quest for glory, for others, a struggle for influence or personal revenge, and it's this mix of motivations that makes the confrontations brutal and intensely personal.”
Militia Gaming Community, which posted an informational preview video on February 17, 2026, credited Milestone for early access and laid out key modes, including campaign, Team Race, Overdrive Challenge, Score Challenge, Checkpoints, Time Attack, multiplayer and a gallery. The channel’s video metadata shows 240000 subscribers and the host telling viewers, “It comes out March 26th. That's just in a few weeks, man. You guys can go do it. Go pre-order it right now,” and, “Real quick before we get into it, shout out to Milestone for letting me have this early access with the game. I really appreciate it. They've been very kind to uh invite me to these type of things.”

On PC, Gamegpu reports immediate support for DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation at launch, pitched at GeForce RTX owners to help “significantly boost frame rates in dynamic races, where speed, collisions, and visual chaos leave no room for system drops at the most inopportune moments.” Milestone’s site also lists Unreal Engine in the legal credits, confirming the engine behind Screamer.
Critical questions remain about the single-player campaign. IGN cautions, “However, some big questions remain. It's unclear whether the writing of the much broader campaign arc ultimately does justice to the character-driven structure, whether the pacing between cutscenes and races ends up feeling earned, and whether the campaign's special rules add meaningful variety beyond what exists in the arcade mode.” IGN also highlights a streamer-friendly inclusion, noting, “Streamers, meanwhile, will immediately appreciate the licensed audio content toggle. A single switch disables copyrighted music before going live, eliminating the need for third-party workarounds. This small inclusion demonstrates an understanding of how people actually play and broadcast games in 2026.”
Milestone is publishing and developing Screamer as Milestone S.r.l., with the product page carrying the company registration and copyright block, and the launch schedule now set: Digital Deluxe early access on March 23, 2026, full release on March 26, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store. For PC owners with GeForce RTX hardware, DLSS 4 support looks to be the biggest practical advantage at launch, while broadcasters will likely value the licensed audio toggle.
