If you want to stop burning VC and actually play, this playbook lays out a short, actionable route to faster, less painful MyCAREER progression. Follow repeatable XP and Rep sources, plan your badge path around a single archetype, and postpone everything that only looks good.
Start by choosing an archetype that fits how you like to play. Shot creator, slasher, two-way — pick one and resist the urge to hybridize every stat. Community-tested templates exist for most playstyles; treat them as a base rather than a shopping list. A focused build unlocks your primary animations and core defensive tools earlier, so you can contribute in games and earn Rep faster.
Early attribute allocation should be minimal and purposeful. Put just enough points into the attributes needed to use your main moves and a couple defensive stats. That keeps VC in reserve for badge upgrades and must-have animations that actually change how you perform, instead of chasing glossy numbers that look nice on paper. The goal is functionality first, cosmetics later.
Badge strategy matters more than raw attribute totals. Prioritize defensive badges on two-way builds, and finishing or shooting badges on offensive builds. Buy core badges up to Gold only when you can reliably use them in-game. Gold badges unlock meaningful behavior changes; equipping high-level badges that you never activate in play is wasted VC. Avoid splurging on niche badges that see little real use in your preferred mode.

Make XP and Rep maximization part of your routine. Play objectives, claim daily rewards, and consistently run the highest-Rep activity you enjoy whether that is Rec, Pro-Am, The City, or Triple Threat. Leveling accelerates when you stack the same mode and its repeatable objectives rather than jumping between activities for variety. Save time-limited boosters like double-XP coins for sessions where you can chain multiple games, such as an evening block, to get the full multiplier value.
Cosmetics and packs are where VC evaporates fastest. Postpone expensive looks until your build is performing. Pack openings are high variance and poor long-term value for progression; do not rely on them to unlock usable upgrades. Common traps include frequent attribute resets, chasing expensive badges you rarely trigger, and expecting packs to replace steady Rep grinding.
Follow this method and you cut grind fatigue, lower VC burn, and reach usable badge levels far faster. Pick a build, lock in a badge roadmap, book regular play sessions for chainable coins, and stop spending on things that do not raise Rep. The result is more time on-court doing what you enjoy and steady progress toward the build you actually want.
