Myra Doria to Retire from McDonald’s After 40-Year Career
Myra Doria will retire from the McDonald’s System in June 2026 after a 40-year career, a change that signals a major leadership transition for thousands of U.S. restaurants and their employees.

Myra Doria will step down as National Field President and retire from the McDonald’s System in June 2026 after a 40-year career, McDonald’s said in a corporate tribute published February 3, 2026. The company said Doria will work alongside her successor in March to ensure a smooth transition, take a sabbatical, then return ahead of the Worldwide in Las Vegas event where McDonald’s plans to celebrate her accomplishments.
McDonald’s credited Doria with a deep operational impact across the System. “There are few in the McDonald’s System who can say they have had as great an impact on our people and restaurants as Myra Doria,” the corporate message said. It listed a string of leadership roles she held since beginning as a manager trainee in 1985 and described “a legacy of developing and fostering talent at all levels, of a strategic approach to franchising, and of continuous impact-driven performance.”

Doria’s rise began in the Philippines. McDonald’s described her start as a manager trainee in Mabalacat City in 1985; her LinkedIn profile cites Pampanga as the province where she began; Manila Standard reports she started at a branch in Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga known as Store 005. Over four decades Doria held roles that included Vice President and General Manager of McOpCo’s West Division, General Manager of the Indianapolis and Rocky Mountain Regions, Field Vice President of Atlanta and Denver, U.S. East Zone President, and National Field President.
Local coverage in the Philippines highlighted the scope of her current role, noting Doria “now oversees 14,000 restaurants in the United States as the company’s National Field President.” Corporate materials and reporting emphasize her awards and recognition, including the President’s Award, the Pat Harris Diversity Award, the Global Leadership Committed to Lead Award, and recognition by the Asian American Business Development Center as a Top 50 Outstanding Asian American in Business honoree.
Company leadership and colleagues marked the announcement with gratitude. Joe Erlinger, President, McDonald’s USA, urged the organization to celebrate Doria and her family, saying, “Please join me as we recognize and celebrate one of our best, thank Myra for her immeasurable impact on the McDonald’s brand and business, and wish her, her husband Erwin, children Denise, Christine, and Erwin John, and granddaughter Cora all the best in retirement.” Doria reflected on mentors and the arc of her career in remarks while visiting the Philippines: “George gave me my first opportunity 40 years ago. If not for him, who knows where I’d be today,” and “Standing up here today reminds me of why I got into this business in the first place, and all the incredible people I’ve met along the way.” In a LinkedIn post she wrote, “This year, I am blessed to be celebrating my 40th anniversary under McDonald's Golden Arches... Over the past 40 years, I've learned to create my own seat at the table and bring my own authentic voice to the business. My roles have changed, my shoes may have changed, but my accent never will—it's what makes me the proud Filipina leader I am today!”
For employees, franchisees, and field leaders, the practical impact will hinge on the identity and priorities of Doria’s successor and on how the March handover is managed. McDonald’s said it “will announce details on our new National Field President soon,” leaving a near-term information need for managers overseeing operations across regions. The company’s emphasis on talent development and inclusion under Doria suggests continuity of people-focused policies, but the transition will be a moment for restaurants and field teams to track any shifts in franchising strategy, coaching programs, and operational priorities as the System moves into the next leadership chapter.
