Still stuck in NBA jerseys when you want to rep your alma mater? NBA 2K26 Season 5 will add college-themed content from 16 universities across MyTEAM and MyCAREER, debuting Friday, February 20, 2026, with new MyTEAM packs, wearable jerseys in The City, and officially licensed courts and MyCOURT murals.

The update covers Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Florida, Houston, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue, Texas, UCLA, and UConn. All 16 schools will have representatives from both their men’s and women’s programs, and, as NBA 2K told On3, "All told, more than 40 active college players will be included, NBA 2K told On3."

MyTEAM gets the biggest visible change at launch. Newsroom 2K and On3 describe a College Celebration Box comprising five free agent option packs; each pack contains current college players and offers players "the ability to choose one card to build a starting lineup." MyTEAM will mix earnable and premium content, and the drop includes authentic jerseys, signature court designs, and a curated selection of MyTEAM cards featuring current college stars and legendary alumni.

MyCAREER and The City will let you wear college jerseys and showcase school branding. Newsroom 2K lists "select college jerseys from current players and alumni from all 16 schools, 16 officially licensed MyCOURT murals, select team mascots, and collegiate-themed gamerplates and cosmetics." MyCAREER featured rewards include game day bundles for Ohio State (Level 9) and Michigan (Level 21), plus a Quadcopter at Level 18.

Season 5’s reward ladder contains several headline alumni and legend cards. Newsroom 2K lays out examples: Level 1 Diamond Evolution V.J. Edgecombe (Baylor), Level 10 Pink Diamond Marvin Bagley III (Duke), Level 20 Galaxy Opal Jason Williams (Florida), Level 28 Dark Matter Larry Brown Coach Card (Kansas), Level 35 100 OVR Breanna Stewart (UConn), and Level 40 100 OVR Draymond Green.

The launch is being backed by a trailer released Wednesday that highlights alumni and current stars; On3 notes, "Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant and Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers are among the headliners in the trailer released Wednesday." On3 and Newsroom 2K also confirm alumni cards will be available: "Alumni cards will also be available to include current NBA and WNBA players from their college years to honor their college roots."

2K frames Season 5 as the opening move toward a larger college effort. Newsroom 2K says, "It’s the start of an ambitious project that begins with our foundational college basketball experience in early 2027. We’ll have more details to share on that in the future…" Expect the Feb. 20 release to tie into March Madness buzz, with MyTEAM pack openings, new MyCOURT murals, and The City cosmetics as the immediate hooks.

If you log in on Feb. 20 and don’t see the College Celebration Box, check MyTEAM’s packs and rewards menus and the Wardrobe/Customization options in The City and MyCAREER. Tell me in the comments what you pull from the College Celebration Box and whether your school’s jersey and MyCOURT mural are live.
