New McDonald’s Included in 15-Acre Port St. Lucie Shopping Center Plan

Morgan Company, in partnership with Casto Net Lease, acquired 15 acres at the intersection of S.W. Port St. Lucie Boulevard and S.W. Becker Road on Feb. 13 for a mixed-use shopping center that will include a new McDonald’s, TCPalm reported March 2, 2026. The developers have four tenants currently confirmed for the center — Aldi, McDonald’s, Circle K and AutoZone — and told TCPalm construction is expected to start in the summer of 2026 with the center scheduled to be finished in 2027.

The addition will expand a dense local McDonald’s footprint: TCPalm’s reporting notes there are 13 McDonald’s restaurants in St. Lucie County and seven of those are in Port St. Lucie. The planned McDonald’s at the S.W. Port St. Lucie Boulevard and S.W. Becker Road site is listed among the center’s 2027 tenants, positioning the chain alongside national retailers Aldi and AutoZone at a parcel acquired on Feb. 13 by Morgan Company and Casto Net Lease.

Separately, the city has advanced another McDonald’s proposal at 10180 S. U.S. 1 at the intersection of Southeast Jennings Road on a 1.56-acre parcel that once housed Sonny’s BBQ. Hometownnewstc reported the former Sonny’s site shuttered in 2016 and that on Aug. 5 the Port St. Lucie Planning & Zoning Board unanimously recommended a special exception allowing owners Dale P. and Gail A. Coyne to build a McDonald’s on the northeast corner of U.S. 1 and Southeast Jennings Road. Board members Peter Louis Spatara and Eric Reikenis reacted to the proposal, with Spatara saying, “That’s been sitting there ugly for such a long time,” and Reikenis adding, “It’s nice to see something there creating business again.”

City records also show municipal action on an existing McDonald’s location in the city. Port St. Lucie Legistar files list item P21-261, “McDonald’s At Darwin Square - Variance,” for the location at 3199 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard (Lot B of the plat of Darwin Square). The variance, submitted by Stephen Mayer, Planner III, and filed as number 2021-1031, sought to reduce required parking by eight spaces to permit construction of a side-by-side drive-thru. The file was created 11/22/2021, brought to the agenda 12/7/2021, and final action on 12/7/2021 is recorded as Passed.

Morgan Company and Casto Net Lease’s Feb. 13 acquisition and the Planning & Zoning Board’s Aug. 5 recommendation for the 1.56-acre U.S. 1 site together mark multiple, distinct McDonald’s developments moving through Port St. Lucie approvals and land deals. Construction at the 15-acre Becker Road center is expected to begin summer 2026 with the center scheduled to open in 2027, bringing the confirmed mix of Aldi, McDonald’s, Circle K and AutoZone to that intersection.
