Nicola Roberts has welcomed her first child with fiancé Mitch Hahn, sharing the news directly with fans after keeping the birth private for a couple of weeks. The 40-year-old Girls Aloud singer said on Instagram that their baby girl arrived healthy and content at 38 weeks and weighed 6.5 lbs, adding that becoming a mother was “heaven on earth.”
Roberts’ post was a carefully timed personal update, delivered on her own terms rather than through a formal media rollout. That approach has become increasingly common among public figures managing major family milestones, especially when they want to control both the timing and tone of the announcement. By waiting a couple of weeks after the birth, Roberts was able to share the news once she and Hahn were settled into the early days of parenthood.
The arrival closes a pregnancy Roberts had already brought into the public eye last year. On Christmas Day 2025, she revealed that she was five months pregnant and expecting to meet the baby in spring 2026. She later spoke about the physical strain of the pregnancy, saying she had surgery at 22 weeks to “help keep the baby in,” and later described reaching 34 weeks as a major relief after being advised to rest.
Roberts and Hahn, a former footballer, got engaged in August 2024, reportedly during a trip to the South of France. The couple had been together for four years after first being publicly linked in June 2022. Their pregnancy had also been marked by public support from Roberts’ circle, including a baby shower attended by former bandmates and friends such as Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl and Laura Whitmore.
Walsh, who performs alongside Roberts in Girls Aloud with Nadine Coyle and the late Sarah Harding, had already congratulated the couple on what she called the “best news ever” after the Christmas pregnancy announcement. Roberts’ latest post now brings the story full circle, moving from a guarded pregnancy announcement, to a medically complicated middle stretch, to the quiet arrival of a first child that the singer says has transformed life at home.
