Nye County Lincoln Day Dinner Draws State GOP Leaders, Raises $33,000
A sold-out Lincoln Day Dinner in Pahrump drew statewide GOP leaders and local candidates and raised more than $33,000 for the Nye County Republican Party on Feb. 28.

The Nye County Republican Central Committee’s Lincoln Day Dinner returned to Pahrump on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 28, drawing a sold-out crowd and raising more than $33,000 for the county party, organizers said. The fundraiser filled a ballroom at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino and featured a lengthy roster of statewide Republican leaders and local candidates.
Nevada state controller Andy Matthews was the first statewide elected official to take the stage, according to Pahrump Valley Times coverage of the event. Organizers positioned the dinner as both a fundraising night and a chance for local voters to hear statewide ticket figures and campaign priorities in person.
Speakers and attendees offered local campaign praise and statewide solidarity. “Everyone knows me as a Vegas guy and a Nevada guy. So I try to come to every event, in Vegas and in the environs around Vegas, Nye County, Pahrump, being very nearby,” Root explained to the Pahrump Valley Times. Strickland told the Pahrump Valley Times, “All these top leaders from all over Nevada are here. It’s amazing.” After his speech, Flippo told the Pahrump Valley Times, “Nye County has been tremendous for my campaign. They’ve supported me, they endorsed me in my last campaign, they endorsed me right up front in this campaign. So I owe a lot of respect to Nye County. They want to get the best conservative that can win and beat Steven Horsford.”
The Nye County Republican Party issued a formal thank-you listing attendees, candidates, elected officials, sponsors, donors and volunteers, and specifically thanked the staff at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino for making the dinner a reality, the Pahrump Valley Times reported. One Nevada Credit Union was displayed as a sponsor on the Pahrump Valley Times page covering the event.

Organizers reported total receipts of more than $33,000 for the county party but did not provide a public, line-item accounting at the event. The Nye County Republican Central Committee directs interested parties to its website, nyegop.org, for further information.
County Lincoln Day and Lincoln-Reagan dinners are part of a wider pattern of local-party fundraising and candidate outreach across the country. Comparable gatherings this season include Smith County’s first Lincoln Reagan dinner in Texas, Fulton County’s Lincoln Day dinner in Johnstown with about 115 Republican committee members and candidates such as Todd Hood, Blaine and Lincoln counties in Idaho hosting a 2026 Lincoln Day Dinner with keynote Alex Adams and state officials Phil McGrane and Raul Labrador, and an upcoming Clinton County Lincoln Day dinner scheduled for March 12 with speaker Pete Seat and tickets priced at $55 and $25 for youth.
