One dead after motorcycle crash on Cohens Bluff Road in Allendale County

A motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after their bike left Cohens Bluff Road, overturned and the rider was ejected, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. "The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene, and troopers say the incident is still under investigation," state troopers reported, and Master Trooper Matthew Jones said the operator "drove off of the roadway going north on Cohens Bluff Landing Road. They ejected from the bike and died at the scene."

South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators told officers the motorcycle had been traveling north when it veered right, went off the road, overturned, and the rider was thrown from the machine. In Gaines Township, Kent County, a collision on Kalamazoo Avenue SE just north of 100th Street involved a motorcycle and a minivan; deputies with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office said their Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate that incident, which local reports identified as involving a 26-year-old man from Allendale, Michigan, and occurring around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 13.
