Orange County Transportation Council schedules January 22 hybrid meeting
The Orange County Transportation Council scheduled a Jan. 22 hybrid meeting to review funding, TIP amendments and regional planning. Residents can attend in person or join via Zoom.

The Orange County Transportation Council posted a notice on Jan. 15 announcing a joint Planning Committee and Policy Board meeting set for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026. The Planning Committee will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the Policy Board convening immediately after. Meetings are being held in a hybrid format - in person at the Orange County Fire Training Center in New Hampton and virtually via Zoom.
As the county’s federally designated metropolitan planning organization, the OCTC coordinates regional transportation planning and the allocation of federal dollars. Agendas and meeting materials are available on the OCTC page at orangecountygov.com/m/newsflash/Home/Detail/2614. The notice invites public participation and comment on agenda items that commonly include Transportation Improvement Program amendments, project funding decisions and other regional planning matters.
For Orange County residents, the meeting offers a direct channel to influence which projects move forward and how federal and state resources are prioritized. Decisions made by the Planning Committee and Policy Board can affect the timing and funding of road repairs, public transit improvements and multimodal projects that shape daily commutes, local construction schedules and longer-term land use patterns. Municipal officials, contractors and community groups often watch these meetings because they can alter project timelines and funding envelopes.
The hybrid format is intended to broaden access by allowing people who cannot travel to New Hampton to participate virtually. Agendas and supporting documents posted online provide the public an opportunity to review proposed amendments and funding items in advance. The OCTC routinely solicits public input during its meetings; attendees may address the committees during designated comment periods.
This session is a routine public-meeting notice, but its outcomes will ripple through county transportation planning for months to come. Residents who want to follow or influence local transportation priorities should review the posted materials, consider attending in person or joining via Zoom and note that the Planning Committee convenes at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Policy Board. Check the OCTC page for the latest agenda and connection details before Jan. 22.
What happens at this meeting will help determine which projects receive attention and funding across Orange County, shaping commutes, infrastructure investments and regional mobility plans in the year ahead.
