Owsley County Owls Rally Past Wolfe County 61-60, Even Record 10-10
Keegan Herald’s last-second basket lifted Owsley County to a 61-60 road win at Wolfe County, with Jarred Napier’s back-to-back threes and an 18-point night fueling the rally.

Owsley County erased a 36-24 halftime deficit and edged Wolfe County 61-60 at Wolfe County High School Gymnasium, evening the Owls’ record to 10-10 and marking their first victory over Wolfe since 2015. The comeback completed a dramatic swing after the Owls trailed for most of the first half.
The fourth quarter produced the decisive sequence. Wolfe still held a six-point lead in the closing minutes when Owls guard Jarred Napier hit back-to-back three-point shots. Wolfe missed a pair of late free throws, and Keegan Herald converted the final basket in the closing seconds to put Owsley ahead. Wolfe had one more possession, but time ran out and the Owls secured the win in front of a supportive group of fans who had made the trip to Campton.
Napier led Owsley with 18 points in the game. Herald finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Jordan McCoy added 12 points and six rebounds. Chase Pryse recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Daniel Caudell contributed six points, seven rebounds and three assists. Wolfe County’s top scorers were Jayden Hollon with 19 points and Jayden Molands with 17.
Earlier in the week Owsley posted a 72-42 road victory over Cordia, jumping out to a 29-12 first-quarter lead and cruising to the win. Jordan McCoy was the top scorer against Cordia with 19 points and made six of nine three-point attempts. Keegan Herald had 13 points, Matt Wright scored 12, Jarred Napier had 11, Bryson Bowling added five, Chase Pryse and Daniel Caudell each had four, Kelton Smith had two and Sawyer Renfroe had two. Cordia was led by Noah Jones with eight points.
Owsley’s schedule also included a February 5 trip to Berea, where the Pirates defeated the Owls 75-60; that game was Owsley’s first contest since January 22. Full individual statistics for the Feb. 5 matchup were not part of the recap available for this report.
An Instagram scoreboard post confirmed the 61-60 final at Wolfe County High School Gymnasium, and the team’s Scorestream listing shows recent games and an upcoming matchup against Jackson City on 02/16. With the Wolfe win the Owls sit at 10-10 for the season, a milestone that ends a decade-long drought against Wolfe County as the program had not recorded a victory over the Wolves since 2015.
