Park City Farmers Market expands with Winter Market at Junction Commons
Volker Ritzinger opened a Winter Market at Junction Commons Feb. 19, operating Fridays–Sundays 10 a.m.–5 p.m. with 12–15 vendors and plans to run for at least 10 weeks.

Volker Ritzinger, founder and organizer of the Park City Farmers Market, launched a Winter Market at Junction Commons, bringing 12 to 15 vendors indoors beginning the weekend of Feb. 19 and operating Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Winter Market is scheduled to run for at least another 10 weeks, moving local commerce into a heated, three-day schedule while snow lingers on the slopes.
The indoor edition extends the market’s season beyond the traditional outdoor months and plugs into Junction Commons’ broader repositioning from Outlets Park City to a hybrid lifestyle center. Junction Commons Marketing Manager Abby Phillips said the partnership aligns with the center’s refreshed mission: "This is exactly what the refresh at Junction Commons is all about. It’s about creating space for our local community to connect, showcase their work and feel at home."
Ritzinger described the Winter Market as a vendor-first effort to keep local producers visible through the cold months. "My goal is to give the vendors the opportunity and a place to sell their awesome products and make money and make those healthy products available not just in the summertime for Park City locals," he said, adding that "We had between 12 to 15 vendors commit right away, and I’m filling the list as we go. I have a lot of people who are interested, and I just need to follow up."
Early offerings at Junction Commons include bread and pastries from Volker’s Baker, coffee, empanadas, Italian gelato and Thai food served from a food truck, according to market materials and early vendor lists. The indoor layout gives prepared-food vendors such as the Thai truck and gelato purveyors a dry, accessible footprint on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, complementing the market’s longstanding outdoor presence at Park City Resort.
The market’s organizers and local coverage emphasize an organic focus, but available reporting contains conflicting language on GMO policy. Park Record states that the Winter Market "focuses on organic and non-GMO goods," while one Ritzinger quote in the same coverage reads, "All the produce, products and meats are all organic with GMOs." The market’s promotional materials and website describe an emphasis on fresh, local and organic goods; organizers have been asked to clarify whether vendors must certify non-GMO status.
Vendor applications are open on the Park City Farmers Market website for producers and artisans interested in the Winter Market, and the market’s summer schedule remains tied to Park City Resort (PCMR). The market’s online calendar lists a 2025 outdoor season that began May 28 and ran through October, with weekday Wednesday markets at the First Time Chair Lift parking lot, though posted start times on site materials vary between 11 a.m. and noon.

With Junction Commons hosting community events such as Da Ramalli Pizzeria appearances and Valentine’s Bingo, the indoor market is positioned as a seasonal anchor that will keep Park City producers selling through spring as the center continues its transition.
