Parolee Little Eagle Moon Arrested After Chase, Overturned Chevy Silverado Near Hoopa
Little Eagle Moon, 33, of Hoopa was arrested after a pursuit that began about 5:20 p.m. and ended when his Chevy Silverado overturned on Tish Tang Road; HCSO said there were no injuries.

A vehicle pursuit near Hoopa that began around 5:20 p.m. on March 2, 2026 ended when a Chevy Silverado overturned on Tish Tang Road and the driver, identified as 33-year-old Little Eagle Moon of Hoopa, was arrested, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Erin Inskip said. Emergency crews extricated the driver through a window, and Inskip confirmed there were no injuries.
Inskip listed four felony counts filed in connection with the Hoopa crash: VC 2800.2 — Evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety; VC 2800.4 — Evading a peace officer: wrong-way driver; PC 496(d) — Possession of a stolen vehicle; and PC 3000.08 — Violation of parole. The sheriff’s office spokesman said the case remains under investigation.
A scene photo published with local coverage shows law enforcement at the overturned Chevy Silverado on Tish Tang Road; the image is credited to Allie Hostler. Local outlets also noted a booking photo of Little Eagle Moon from 2020 appears in reporting about the arrest.
Local reporting and HCSO materials emphasize Moon’s prior contacts with police. “Moon has previously been involved in several fleeing incidents with law enforcement,” one local account stated. Separate earlier reporting about an unrelated Eureka collision involving Moon included EPD commentary: “According to EPD, Moon fled from that collision and hid in a nearby greenbelt before being taken into custody. He was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to be booked on attempted murder charges once medically cleared.” That earlier Eureka matter also prompted EPD to place the involved officer on paid administrative leave and to note that body camera footage would be released under State Bill 748 guidelines.

HCSO’s description of the March 2 pursuit places the rollover and extrication on Tish Tang Road and identifies Moon as the driver taken into custody at the scene. The sheriff’s office provided the four-code charge list above and reiterated that no injuries were reported from the Hoopa crash.
Investigators with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office continue to develop the case; HCSO PIO Erin Inskip remains the agency spokesperson on the incident. The agency said it will update the investigation and any additional filings as information becomes available.
