Patsy’s Community Closet Hosts Free Prom-Attire Giveaway in Pahrump March 28
Patsy Brown’s Patsy’s Community Closet will give away free prom attire and household goods at the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump on March 28, 2–4 p.m.

Patsy Brown’s Patsy’s Community Closet will host a free, boutique-style clothing and goods giveaway at the Bob Ruud Community Center, 150 N. Highway 160 in Pahrump, on Saturday, March 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will specifically include prom attire alongside a wider inventory of donated items.
The Pahrump pop-up will use a boutique-style shopping setup with stylists available to help participants coordinate outfits. “Presentation is really big,” Brown said about the community closet’s format. Pvtimes reports the setup is designed to make selection feel like boutique shopping rather than a typical handout.
Organizers say the giveaway will feature more than clothing and prom dresses; Patsy Brown, president of Patsy’s Community Closet, described the program as “a community-based program and it’s designed to provide essential clothing, household goods, hygiene products, pretty much everything under the sun from furniture, wheelchairs, baby cribs, microwaves, TVs, computers to those in need.” The Pahrump event will also host additional booths from various Southern Nevada organizations, expanding the range of on-site services and resources.
The Patsy’s event follows a regional pattern of prom-closet outreach in Southern Nevada. Project 150’s Las Vegas Prom Closet at the Sahara Hotel Congo Ballroom has served as a local precedent, offering free prom attire and accessories to high school students; News3lv reported Project 150’s program has given up to 2,000 students access to thousands of dresses, suits, shoes and accessories. Kellie Cristo, executive director of Project 150, said of that program, “All the clothing that you see here today is generously donated by the community. It's new, like new, some still have tags on them. It's incredible.”
Admission to the Patsy’s Community Closet pop-up in Pahrump is free, and the organization will emphasize stylist assistance and presentation during the 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. hours on March 28. The Bob Ruud Community Center location at 150 N. Highway 160 will serve as the distribution site for prom attire and the broader inventory Patsy’s lists, offering residents access to clothing, household goods and mobility items at no cost.
