Chefs, wine and an auction converged at The Inn & Spa at East Wind in Wading River March 5 for Sweet Dreams 2026, a fundraising dessert competition presented by the Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation. The foundation’s event page described the night as PBMC’s third annual dessert comp, and promotional material listed a dessert competition alongside participating chefs, wine pairings and a charity auction.
Organizers presented Sweet Dreams 2026 as a community fundraiser for Peconic Bay Medical Center and its foundation, with the event produced by the hospital’s Auxiliary Board and foundation staff. The foundation’s online materials emphasize the importance of local giving: "Philanthropy fuels and accelerates growth at Peconic Bay Medical Center. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on financial support from neighbors and our community to continue to bring the highest quality medical and surgical care to our community. However you choose to support Peconic Bay Medical Center, you can be confident that your gift is a lifesaving investment in the health of your community."
The Auxiliary Board, which helps stage events such as Sweet Dreams 2026, says it performs a range of community-facing activities. "How we make it all happen: The Auxiliary Board members work hard to promote Peconic Bay Medical Center through increased community awareness and vital fundraising initiatives. We organize large and small events, operate the gift shop within the hospital, organize raffles and make crafts, among many other activities throughout the year," the board text states. Selection of board members is governed internally: "Board members are selected through an election process, as determined by the Auxiliary by-law."
The foundation’s fundraising materials outline multiple ways to contribute beyond attending events. Supporters may "Make your gift online or mail a check payable to Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation to: Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation 1 Heroes Way Riverhead, NY 11901." The materials also list tribute and memorial gifts as an available giving option and note the organization’s tax status: "As an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by law."
Sponsorship opportunities for 2026 were promoted in foundation materials with the instruction "Click below for sponsorship opportunities" and a resource reference titled "2026-Sponsorship-Opportunities." For questions, giving acknowledgments or sponsorship inquiries the foundation provided contact information: Jackie Doskoez jdoskoez@northwell.edu and phone 548-6080.
The Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation retains its copyright notice on materials for the event: "© Copyright 2023 Peconic Bay Medical Center." Organizers say Sweet Dreams 2026 continues a string of Auxiliary Board events intended to raise community awareness and funds for local medical and surgical care, and the foundation is accepting donations and sponsorship commitments for ongoing support of PBMC services.
