Shannon Hoskins’ Commodores rallied from an early deficit to pull away for a 64-55 win over host Breathitt County at Fairce O. Woods Coliseum in Jackson on March 4, 2026, advancing Perry County Central to the 14th Region semifinals.
Shannon Hoskins’ crew had to overcome a slow start as Breathitt County raced out to a 20-9 advantage after the first quarter. The Commodores marched their way back into the picture, cutting the Bobcats’ cushion down to one by intermission, 27-26, before taking control in the second half.
Perry County Central scored the first field goal in the third quarter to jump ahead, 29-27, but Breathitt County tied it when Aiden Combs hit a basket to make it 29-29. Landon Miller answered for the Commodores with a bucket that gave Perry a 31-29 lead, and from there Perry County Central built its margin; the Commodores entered the fourth leading 42-34.
In the fourth quarter Perry maintained leads that varied between seven to 13 points and closed out a nine-point triumph, 64-55. The Commodores’ second-half surge erased the Bobcats’ early momentum and produced the regional quarterfinal victory that sends Perry into the weekend bracket.

Powell reached the semifinal by edging Letcher County Central, 73-71, in a tense opening-round game in which Powell led 16-11 after the first quarter and 33-30 at halftime. Letcher used a 6-0 run to flip a 42-39 deficit into a 45-42 lead late in the third; after the game was tied at 48-48, Tucker Ramsey hit a triple to put Powell up three heading into the fourth. The Cougars led 54-53 early in the final frame, but Bryson Edwards’ layup put Powell ahead 58-56 and Powell held on to build the narrow cushion.
