Prince George’s County Council held a public swearing-in for Timothy Adams and Danielle Hunter, filling District 4 and District 6 seats and affecting representation for county residents.

Prince George’s County Council sworn in Timothy Adams and Danielle Hunter at a public ceremony and reception that began at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building in Largo. The event installed Adams in the District 4 seat and Hunter in the District 6 seat, restoring representation for constituents in both districts.
The council’s announcement read, "On Tuesday, February 3, beginning at 9:00 AM, the Prince George’s County Council will host a public swearing-in ceremony and reception for its two newest Council Members: Danielle Hunter (District 6) and Timothy Adams (District 4). Both events will take place at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1301 McCormick Drive, Largo, MD, 20774." An Instagram invitation similarly urged residents to "Join us for their swearing-in ceremony and reception on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building. Let's celebrate"
Danielle Hunter’s appointment fills the District 6 vacancy that followed Wala Blegay’s move to an At-Large seat; Wala Blegay’s At-Large appointment is recorded as Dec. 29, 2025. Timothy Adams was appointed by the Council following the resignation of former District 4 Council Member Ingrid S. Watson. The swearing-in took place in the first-floor Council Hearing Room at 1301 McCormick Drive, with a reception tied to the ceremonial proceedings.
Council business continued in the same building after the ceremony. The General Assembly Committee convened at 11:00 a.m. in Committee Room 2027 on the second floor, and the full Council met at 12:30 p.m. in the first-floor Council Hearing Room.
