Prince George’s County Holds FY26 Area Plan Listening Sessions March 3-4
Prince George’s County held two FY26 Area Plan listening sessions March 3-4 to collect resident and provider feedback on gaps in senior and disability services.

Prince George’s County’s Department of Family Services — Aging & Disabilities Services Division held a pair of FY26 Area Plan listening sessions inviting residents, caregivers, service providers, and community stakeholders to share feedback about priorities and gaps in services for older adults during meetings March 3-4. County officials said the sessions were convened to gather input that will inform the FY26 Area Plan for aging and disability services across Prince George’s County.
Transportation, in-home care and job training emerged as central topics tied to existing county programs. Senior Transportation Service is described as "a special service of Call-a-Bus providing regularly scheduled curb-to-curb transportation throughout Prince George's County to County seniors (aged 60 and older) and persons with disabilities," and the Department of Public Works & Transportation Transit Division maintains an office at 9400 Peppercorn Place, Suite 320, Largo, MD 20774. The Senior Care Program was emphasized as "a gap-filling program for seniors 65 years of age and older who have limited income and assets," with services that can include personal care, home delivered meals and emergency response systems. Participants were also reminded that "SCSEP participants gain work experience in a variety of community service locations to include non-profit and public facilities, such as schools, hospitals, day-care centers, and senior centers."
The Aging & Disabilities Services Division, which also serves as the local Area Agency on Aging, frames its work around direct service and outreach. "The Prince George’s County Aging and Disabilities Services Division, which also serves at the local Area Agency on Aging (AAA), advocates, educates and plans services and programs to meets the needs of older adults and individuals of differing abilities, promoting choice, independence and dignity," the division’s materials state. The division’s office is located at 6420 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, MD 20748, and staff can be reached at 301-265-8450 for follow-up on programs and next steps.
Local oversight and community advising for the Area Plan rests with a 24-member advisory body. "The Prince George’s County Advisory Committee on Aging is comprised of 24 members appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council to advise them on issues related to aging," materials say, and "Its mission is to advise the Prince George’s County Executive and County Council on issues related to aging and to support and advocate the promotion of choice, dignity, and independence for all older Prince Georgians and their families." The Advisory Committee on Aging also notes that "Meetings are held throughout the year and are open to the public" and one posting includes the truncated line "Meetings are held the 4th Thursday of every month from [...]" without a listed time.
