PROBAT unveils Cx70 in Emmerich, for specialty, growing roasters; Hotelex Shanghai debut
Probat unveiled the Cx70 in Emmerich with a 350 kg/hr capacity, 6–20 minute roast window, and an optional partial recirculation system claiming up to 20% energy savings ahead of its Hotelex Shanghai debut.

PROBAT announced the Cx70 drum roaster in a press release datelined Emmerich, Germany, March 4, 2026, positioning the machine as a compact, high‑performance system for growing roasting businesses and specialty producers. The company said the Cx70 will celebrate its world premiere at Hotelex Shanghai, which runs between 30 March and 2 April, marking a planned public debut for the model.
The company released concrete specs: a maximum roasting capacity of 350 kilograms per hour and roasting times between 6 and 20 minutes, which PROBAT framed as providing "maximum flexibility for individualized aroma development." PROBAT described the machine as bringing together "durable design, precision engineering, customizable performance, and outstanding energy efficiency in a compact, high performance package," and named the smart, intuitive Probat ProCS Machine control system as the roaster's batch control solution.
PROBAT highlighted configurability and workflow options: "While the Cx70 can be configured in numerous ways to meet a wide range of needs, every component is engineered for cost efficiency and optimal performance," the press release stated, adding that "optional automation packages enable operators to tailor the system precisely to their workflow, supporting both semi automated and fully automated setups based on production demands." PROBAT also emphasized construction with "durable, long life components" and touted an "exceptionally favorable price performance ratio" that delivers "attractive capital expenditure, high productivity, and dependable lifecycle economics."

Sustainability was a central technical claim: both PROBAT and trade reporting note an optional partial recirculation system that redirects a portion of the cleaned roasting exhaust back into the combustion chamber so the system reuses residual heat and reduces the need for additional thermal energy. PROBAT stated this enables energy savings of up to 20 percent, language repeated in trade coverage ahead of the Hotelex showing.
GCR Magazine quoted PROBAT Product Manager Mark Weimer on the economic case for the Cx70: "The Cx70 delivers measurable economic advantages throughout its lifecycle," he said, adding, "By combining significantly reduced investment costs with a substantial increase in roasting capacity, the Cx70 also enables roasters to increase production without taking on excessive financial risk." Weimer also told GCR, "Compared to other market solutions, the Cx70 offers a clearly optimised cost-performance ration." GCR further reported that "the footprint, price, and increased capacity of the new roaster have been designed to optimise operations for those who use it."

PROBAT amplified the Hotelex announcement on Instagram with the caption, "The Cx70 drum roaster will celebrate its world premiere at Hotelex Shanghai, marking a significant milestone in economically optimized coffee." The March 4 press release and trade coverage did not list MSRP, availability dates, booth number, or detailed technical dimensions; those specifics remain to be confirmed with PROBAT ahead of the end of March Hotelex exhibition. The company’s Cx70 follows a history of new-model launches from PROBAT, including the P05 III shop roaster presented during a digital launch in September 2020, a campaign that, at the time, emphasized an "intelligent control system with extended functionality" and integrated touch panel operation.
