Ramah High Students Qualify for 2026 BPA National Conference in Nashville
Ramah High School students and advisors have qualified to represent McKinley County at the BPA National Leadership Conference in Nashville after competing at the New Mexico state meet in Albuquerque.

Ramah High School students and advisors have qualified to compete at the 2026 National Leadership Conference hosted by Business Professionals of America (BPA), Gallup‑McKinley County Schools announced Feb. 26, 2026. The district said the qualifying effort follows the 2026 New Mexico BPA State Leadership Conference held in Albuquerque from February 19–21, 2026 and that Ramah will join national contenders in Nashville in May 2026.
Members of the Ramah High School BPA chapter recently participated in the 2026 New Mexico BPA State Leadership Conference in Albuquerque, held February 19–21, 2026, the district reported. The state meet drew more than 620 student members competing across 84 events, and Gmcs noted that “of those members, only 280 students qualified to represent New Mexico BPA at the national level,” underscoring how selective the national slots were this year.
Gallup‑McKinley County Schools framed the Nashville trip as more than competition, saying “This conference represents the culmination of months of preparation and dedication. The event brings together thousands of students from across the world to compete, network with peers, attend leadership workshops, and participate in general sessions featuring nationally recognized speakers.” The district also listed BPA career pathways for student development: Finance; Business Administration; Management Information Systems; Digital Communication & Design; and Management, Marketing & Communication.
National conference logistics vary by source. GMCS stated only that “The BPA National Leadership Conference will be held in Nashville, TN in May 2026.” Highland Community College’s technical center reporting provided specific national dates and branding, saying “Qualifying students will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to attend BPA’s 60th Anniversary National Leadership Conference, “Amplify Your Impact” May 6-10, 2026.” Highlandcc added that delegates will join “an estimated six thousand delegates from across the nation to participate in national level business and technology skills competitions” and described BPA as “an innovator in Career and Technical Education, providing members with opportunities for growth through education, competition, community service and personal development.”
The GMCS release and site materials include a partial social media thank-you to Ramah High: “A heartfelt thank you to Ramah High School for presenting the BPA Torch Awards Ceremony at our 2026 #NMBPA State Leadership Conference. Your” — the post is truncated in district materials provided with the announcement. The district’s Feb. 26 release did not list individual Ramah qualifiers or advisors by name, leaving the number and identities of local students advancing to nationals unspecified in the public notice.
Ramah High’s national qualification places McKinley County among the roughly 280 New Mexico students who advanced this year, and district officials said the trip will connect local students to national-level competitions and leadership programming in Nashville. The district’s announcement framed the qualification as the payoff for months of preparation and a local step onto BPA’s larger national stage.
