Ricardo Lee Vance Identified in Oxon Hill Fatal Shooting; $25,000 Reward Offered

Prince George’s County Police Department homicide detectives have identified the man killed in an Oxon Hill shooting as 47-year-old Ricardo Lee Vance of Oxon Hill and are asking the public for help in the ongoing investigation. Authorities say the department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.

Officers responded to the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road and located Vance outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the night of Feb. 3. Emergency personnel pronounced Vance dead at the scene. Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are leading the investigation and have not released a suspect description.

“Officers were called to the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road Tuesday at approximately 9:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting. They found Vance outside with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Detectives are currently working to establish a motive for the shooting,” the department said in its account of the incident.

Detectives are actively working to determine motive and to identify suspect or suspects involved in the case, and they continue to follow leads. No arrests or charges have been announced.
