RISD Board Approves Casey Dick as Rockwall-Heath Athletic Coordinator, Football Coach

Casey Dick will take over leadership of Rockwall-Heath High School athletics after the Rockwall Independent School District Board of Trustees approved his hiring as Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach, a district social post confirmed March 5. The RISD Instagram post stated, "The Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Coach Casey Dick as the new Rockwall-Heath High School Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach."

A native of Allen, Texas, Dick played quarterback at the University of Arkansas from 2005 to 2008 and was part of the 2006 Razorbacks team that finished 10-4, the program’s first double-digit season in nearly 20 years at that time. His coaching résumé includes a season as Van Buren High School head coach in 2018, a seven-season run as Fayetteville High School head coach beginning in April 2019, and earlier assistant roles as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Bentonville West and as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club.

At Fayetteville, Dick led the program to the Class 7A state championship in 2023 and received Arkansas Coach of the Year honors; Fayetteville also reached the 2021 title game during his tenure. Fayetteville’s Director of Athletics, identified in some accounts as Steve Jankski and in others as Steve Janski, praised Dick’s impact: "We are incredibly grateful for the time we’ve had with Coach Casey Dick at Fayetteville High School. His leadership and dedication have helped guide our program to a state championship while inspiring a passion for the game in countless student-athletes. Coach Dick has helped shape young men to succeed both on the field and in their future."

Reports list Dick’s Fayetteville-era record in differing totals: one account reports 55-25 over seven seasons while another reports 55-28 over seven seasons. Those figures have not yet been reconciled with Fayetteville High School’s official athletics records.

Dick fills the vacancy created when longtime Rockwall-Heath coach Rodney Webb announced his retirement in February. Rockwall-Heath posted an 8-4 record in 2025 and competes in District 10-6A, one of the state’s most competitive districts; defending district champion North Forney is coached by Marcus Shavers, who figures into the local rivalry and has a prior personal connection to Dick as a former high school teammate and college roommate.

Fayetteville’s athletics page announced Dick’s departure and said the school has opened a search for its next head coach and invited applicants to apply online. Local coverage showed Dick at the RISD board meeting with his family, and a Rockwall Herald-Banner update on March 5, 2026 included a photograph of Dick and family at the meeting and an article timestamp of March 5, 2026 @ 11:49 pm.

As Rockwall-Heath prepares for the next season under Dick’s leadership, district officials have posted social confirmation of the hire and Fayetteville has begun a formal replacement search; remaining items for verification include Dick’s official Fayetteville win-loss tally, the correct spelling of Fayetteville’s athletics director, and any contract terms RISD will release.
