Seaboard Farms Maintenance Office Gutted by Fire Southeast of Guymon
A Seaboard Farms finisher maintenance office at 3721 Rd. Z southeast of Guymon was destroyed by fire Saturday night; estimated losses are $400,000 and the cause is under investigation.

A large commercial building used by Seaboard Farms as its finisher maintenance office at 3721 Rd. Z southeast of Guymon was gutted by fire Saturday night, with the estimated loss put at $400,000. The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal Office and the Texas County Sheriff Office are leading the investigation into the cause, and no timeline for findings has been released.
Guymon firefighters were dispatched to the scene on March 3, 2026 and arrived at 9:02 p.m., finding a “large commercial building fully involved in flames.” On arrival, Guymon crews immediately requested mutual aid from the Hardesty, Optima, Hooker and Goodwell Fire Departments to bolster firefighting efforts and water supply.
Firefighters worked about two hours to get the blaze under control and then remained on scene through Sunday afternoon to monitor hot spots and preserve the scene for investigators. Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley confirmed, “At the time of the fire, no one was in the building or on site.” No injuries were reported among Seaboard personnel or fire responders.
The property at 3721 Rd. Z was specifically identified as a Seaboard Farms Finisher Maintenance Office at the time of the fire; reporting notes describe the structure as a large commercial building. The $400,000 damage estimate was included in the initial reporting of the incident; investigators have not yet released a breakdown of losses, inventory or equipment damaged that would substantiate that figure.

Investigative responsibility has been assigned to both the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal Office and the Texas County Sheriff Office. As of publication, neither agency nor Seaboard Farms has issued a public statement with preliminary findings, and no suspects, charges or causes have been announced. Dispatch and scene records show arrival at 9:02 p.m., a roughly two-hour active firefight, and crews remaining on scene until Sunday afternoon, but exact clearance times were not provided.
The scale of the response—five local fire departments assisting Guymon—and the $400,000 estimated loss underscore the financial and operational consequences for the site at 3721 Rd. Z. Until investigators complete scene work and Seaboard Farms provides further detail, the timing for any cleanup, repairs or resumption of activities tied to the finisher maintenance office remains unknown.
