Suspect Danny Asher Arrested in Leslie County After Bubby Combs Shooting
A man wanted on a murder warrant in the shooting death of Ryan Huff at Bubby Combs Apartments was arrested in Leslie County March 4 after a resident reported suspicious behavior.

A man wanted on a murder warrant in the shooting death of Ryan Huff at the Bubby Combs Apartments was taken into custody in Leslie County on March 4 after someone reported a suspicious person, officials said. Authorities announced on Facebook at 9:30 a.m. that the suspect, identified as Danny Asher and known by the nickname "Blue," was located and arrested without incident.
Perry County deputies discovered the body of Ryan Huff on March 3 on Darfork Road in the Bubby Combs Apartments area; deputies said he was shot to death. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating a deadly shooting at the apartment complex and issued a murder warrant late Tuesday night for the suspect.
Leslie County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the suspect after a caller reported suspicious behavior in Leslie County, and deputies who responded identified the person as Danny Blue Asher. "Deputies responded to the report and identified the individual as Asher, who had an active warrant for murder," the sheriff’s office said. "Authorities say Asher was taken into custody without incident."
Name and age details vary in law enforcement bulletins. The warrant description issued in connection with the Perry County investigation listed the suspect as Danny Asher, who "also goes by the nickname 'Blue,'" and gave a last known address in the Bonnyman community. Separate law enforcement notices have listed differing ages for Asher; one bulletin described him as 33, while another listed him as 43. Authorities have not confirmed the suspect's legal middle name or exact age in a public charging document.
Law enforcement accounts place the shooting at the Bubby Combs Apartment building near 15 Darfork Road; some reports use the alternate spelling Darkfork Road. Investigators said Asher is accused of shooting and killing Ryan Huff at the apartment complex on Tuesday. Detectives described the incident as a homicide and said the investigation remains ongoing.
Earlier in the search, authorities warned that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and urged anyone who saw him not to approach and to call 911. That advisory was in effect while the manhunt continued; officers say the arrest in Leslie County was made after a civilian report prompted a swift response.
Investigators said the probe into Huff’s death is continuing and that additional details, including formal charging documents and any scheduled court appearances, will be released as the Perry County and Leslie County sheriff’s offices complete their work.
