Taco Bell employee arrested after firing shots during Muskego fight
A Taco Bell employee allegedly fired multiple rounds after a fight inside the Janesville Road restaurant in Muskego around 1:10 p.m.; police arrested the worker and referred a first-degree recklessly endangering safety charge.

A physical altercation that began inside the Taco Bell on Janesville Road near Moorland escalated into gunfire and an on-scene arrest at about 1:10 p.m. Local dispatch audio recorded during the incident says, "Currently a physical fight going on at Taco Bell between two customers trying to get into the kitchen area. All I hear is screaming and they're just requesting police. He did shoot 2 to 3 rounds. Apparently he was an incident an employee versus an employee."
The person who fired the shots was taken into custody at the restaurant, and authorities referred a charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety for prosecution. Police statements and scene activity show the investigation remained active into the evening and the following day as evidence was collected.
Reports from the scene described the initial confrontation as involving two customers and several employees inside the restaurant. Muskego officers arrived after callers reported screaming and a fight had spilled outside; some accounts indicated the customers left the scene before police arrival. No name of the arrested employee has been released and no booking information was provided publicly.
Medical responders treated and transported one person to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the fight. Officials noted, "No one was struck by the gunfire; however, officials say one person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries related to the fight." It has not been publicly clarified whether that injured person sustained wounds from the physical altercation or from any other cause.

Investigators processed the site the next day, placing evidence markers in front of the restaurant near the drive-through and roping off the property while officers continued work. Nearby businesses were affected when employees at a daycare heard the gunfire and placed the facility on brief lockdown; the daycare later reopened and staff reported everyone inside was safe.
There is a discrepancy in public statements about where the charging paperwork will be forwarded: some briefings indicated the referral would go to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office, while other accounts named the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department as the recipient. Muskego police listed the charge as first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and officials described the investigation as ongoing as they sorted evidence and witness accounts.
Authorities have not released additional details about the firearm, the exact number of rounds recovered, or whether any surveillance footage exists; the department continues to investigate the sequence of events that led to shots being fired inside and outside the Janesville Road Taco Bell on March 2, 2026.
