Travis Kelce watched from the audience as his fiancée Taylor Swift accepted the Pop Album of the Year award at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, then heard his name called out from the stage in front of a national television audience.

Accepting the award for her 12th studio album "The Life of a Showgirl," Swift told the crowd the record "was really inspired by the energy that I felt like looking into crowds and seeing you guys every single night," before adding, "This album probably also feels very happy and confident and free because that's the way that I get to feel every single day of my life because of my fiancé, who's here tonight."

After more than two years together, Swift and Kelce finally made their awards show debut. Kelce accompanied Swift to the ceremony on Thursday night, though his attendance was a surprise. Rather than making a red-carpet debut as a couple, the two arrived separately, with Swift walking the carpet solo in an embellished mint green corset and skirt set while Kelce joined her inside wearing a brown leather jacket.

Swift won seven awards at the ceremony, including Pop Album of the Year for "The Life of a Showgirl." She holds the record for most iHeartRadio Music Awards with a total of 34 prior to Thursday's ceremony, and with nine nominations this year led the pack of nominees. Her attendance marked her first awards show appearance of 2026 as well as her first time at this particular ceremony since 2023.

Swift led the pack with nine nominations, including Pop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia." Host Ludacris, in an interview ahead of the show, singled out Swift's appearance as a highlight, saying "I know there's not a surprise with Taylor Swift making an appearance. She hasn't done that in a long time, so just that alone is going to get a lot of people excited."

Swift and Kelce's relationship has played out publicly since mid-2023, but the iHeartRadio ceremony marked a new chapter for the couple on television. Ludacris hosted the genre-spanning event, which included performances by Alex Warren, Lainey Wilson, RAYE, TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue, plus Kehlani and iHeartRadio Icon Award recipient John Mellencamp. The collaboration between TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue marked the first time the three acts had performed together.

The couple's engagement dates to August 26, 2025, when they announced after two years of dating with the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," alongside photos from a garden proposal. Swift previously said Kelce "crushed" the proposal despite nerves heading into the moment.

In crediting Kelce onstage, Swift also nodded to her "The Fate of Ophelia" lyrics, closing with, "So, thanks for all the vibes.
