The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Launches February 12, 2026
The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy launched on February 12, 2026, adding the Ondarion world, dynasty systems, a Nobility career and new kits and digital extras that reshape legacy play.

Players received a major new playground for legacy storytelling when The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy arrived on February 12, 2026. The expansion brings a new world named Ondarion, fresh systems for dynasties and nobility, new lot types and hundreds of Build & Buy and CAS items designed to support long-form, multi-generational play.
Ondarion is divided into three neighborhoods - Verdemar, Bellacorde and Dambele - and launches with 16 lots, or 18 if you count the new apartment slots. The expansion introduces a Backroom Lot type that lets a single building serve dual purposes: a Gym, Museum or Library by day and a Night Club by night. That design encourages venues that evolve with a household schedule and gives players new options for dramatic scene-setting.
Gameplay centers on two intertwined mechanics: a dynasty system for managing lineages and reputation across generations, and a Nobility career that turns court politics into playable progression. Dynasty features support family alliances, rivalries, blackmail and reputation management, while a new Scandals system lets rumors spread fast and destabilize a household - scandals can affect relationships, careers and Dynasty Prestige, and players decide how to respond.
The Nobility career adds structured ranks, pay and duties that feed story beats. Sample ranks and requirements include Opulent Overseer (level 7) with adult titles Marquess/Marchioness/Marquem and a §1,992/day salary, which lists promotion tasks such as reaching level 8 in Charisma and duties including attending a Grand Ball and helping a Court Visitor with a dilemma. Other ranks include Influential Liege (level 5) at §1,416/day, Admirable Aristocrat (level 6) at §1,824/day with a Swordsmanship requirement, and Distinguished Dignitary (level 8) at §2,088/day with high Charisma thresholds and duties like donating to Kingdom Funds. The career is built to reward social play, skill investment and political maneuvering, while leaving the ultimate claim to the crown as a contested endgame.

Alongside the expansion, two Kits released the same day: Tea Time Solarium (a Build Kit) and Silver Screen (a CAS style Kit). Kits are listed at 5 USD each, with an option to buy them as a Grand Bundle for 40 USD. A limited-time Regal Treasures digital set of three exclusive objects is available through March 15, 2026. Some storefront reports indicate that pre-ordering before March 15 grants both Kits and the Regal Treasures pack, but purchase mechanics vary by platform and storefront, so double-check your platform for exact bonuses.
Royalty & Legacy leans heavily into roleplay. Designers gave players tools to stage palace balls, court intrigue and multi-gen sagas reminiscent of The Sims Medieval, while also providing concrete systems for progression and scandal management. For players who love crafting dynasties, Ondarion delivers new hooks and a stack of items to outfit every throne room and servant’s quarters.
What comes next for players is hands-on: explore Ondarion, test the Backroom Lot transitions, and experiment with Nobility promotions and scandal responses. Confirm pre-order and bonus details on your platform, then start plotting your claim to the crown or your preferred dynasty drama.
