Timberland Reinvents Iconic Work Boot With New Slip-On Boot Clog
Timberland has reimagined its 6-Inch Premium Boot as a laceless slip-on called the Boot Clog, shown in official images in Wheat and Dark Brown with a nubuck upper and lug outsole.

Timberland has taken its 6-Inch Premium Boot vocabulary and pared it down into a laceless slip-on silhouette called the Timberland Boot Clog, a design first previewed with official images on Mar 3, 2026. Hypebeast published the independent preview listing the product name as Timberland Boot Clog and SKU as TBC, and noted the new silhouette “reimagines the brand’s iconic work boot with a slip-on design.”
The aesthetic is literal about heritage: Hypebeast reports the Boot Clog arrives in Wheat and Dark Brown and “the upper retains Timberland’s signature nubuck leather build, complete with visible stitching and padded collar details.” The visible stitching and padded collar keep the original boot’s tactile cues, while the material choice, described as premium nubuck by multiple outlets, signals Timberland’s intention to lean on craft rather than gimmick.
Structurally the change is dramatic. Hypebeast described how “traditional lace-up fastenings are replaced by a clog-style slip-on design, with the quarters and tongue streamlined for ease.” Selectabisso goes further, stating that “the main change is the elimination of laces and the heel counter in favor of a slip-on construction,” a modification that will affect how the shoe secures to the foot and how it performs under load. The outsole, however, remains familiar: both Hypebeast and Selectabisso call out Timberland’s durable lug pattern, preserving the brand’s traction-first legacy even as the upper evolves.
Positioning for the Boot Clog is explicit. Selectabisso frames the silhouette as “a hybridization between work boot and contemporary mule,” part of a “strong trend in the footwear market, where outdoor and heritage models are being rethought through a lifestyle lens.” That framing explains the choice to keep nubuck and the lug sole while removing laces: Timberland appears to be converting rugged utility into everyday convenience for urban wardrobes.

Not everyone greeted the preview warmly. HipHopWired ran a sharply critical reaction to the Hypebeast images, quoting its own copy, “these may be DOA because WTF?!”, and referencing the “traditional yellow suede construction boot colorway” as an ironic nod to the Wheat tone’s streetwear history. HipHopWired predicted limited appeal in some urban boroughs while conceding Timberland’s durable classic construction remains commercially resilient.
Concrete details remain unresolved: Hypebeast and Selectabisso both list the release window as 2026 but give no exact date, pricing and global availability have not been released, and the SKU appears in preview copy as TBC. The provenance of the “official images” shown on Mar 3, 2026 is not clarified in the previews. What is clear is Timberland’s strategy: retain signature nubuck and lugged traction while testing a laceless, clog-style translation of a 6-Inch icon, a gamble that will prove whether convenience and heritage can coexist in the brand’s next silhouette when it arrives in 2026.
