Trader Joe's Confirms Viral Mini Pastel Tote Bags Returning This Spring
Trader Joe’s confirmed its viral mini pastel canvas tote bags will return this spring, saying the same 13 x 11 design will be sold again and, a company spokesperson said, will retail for $2.99.

Trader Joe’s has confirmed a spring return of its viral mini pastel canvas tote bags, and a company spokesperson said the upcoming drop will be the same design sold in spring 2025 and will cost $2.99. The retailer described the release as limited-time availability, and no exact launch date has been provided by Trader Joe’s communications.
“We plan to offer Pastel Mini Canvas totes in the Spring,” said Nakia Rohde, Trader Joe’s public relations manager. “These are the same bags we had in stores last Spring.” Company statements and retailer copy describe four pastel shades for the mini totes; sources variously list the colors as pink, blue, purple or lavender, and green or mint, and the bags carry the Trader Joe’s logo embroidered in one of those spring tones.
Dimensions reported across product write-ups center on a roughly 13-by-11-inch footprint; at least one outlet listed full dimensions of 13 x 11 x 6 inches, and another described the minis as about the size of a personal lunch bag or a medium-sized purse. Design notes identify the material as canvas and confirm the mini scale mirrors prior limited-edition drops released in 2024 and 2025.
Retail behavior from past releases is a central part of the announcement’s context. “The products have become viral sensations on social media in recent years, with customers lining up for their chance to purchase the bags, and some even reselling them online for hundreds of dollars,” a company spokesperson said in a statement relayed to one news outlet. Secondary-market monitoring reported sellers listing minis for hundreds after the 2024 drop and listings as high as $1,000 in 2025, according to outlets that tracked resale activity.
On-the-ground anecdotes underline the heat around the return. One Reno store’s line reportedly stretched around the building before opening during a previous drop and staff reported customers rushing to piles of totes near registers until stock disappeared. Shoppers are being reminded of prior sellouts: “Most stores saw them disappear just a few minutes after opening, so it’s a good idea to line up before the store opens if you want to get your hands on some,” reads guidance circulated in lifestyle coverage of the product.
Trader Joe’s confirmed the minis will be a limited run but has not released details on inventory per store, purchase limits, or whether the drop will be nationwide on a single date. In Wisconsin, three store locations that previously sold the mini totes are at 12665 W. Bluemound Road in Brookfield, 5600 N. Port Washington Road in Glendale, and 1810 Monroe St. in Madison, places that could again see early-morning lines when the retailer announces the exact release date.
