Train-A-Palooza #12 Model Train Show Returns to Grapevine March 14–15, 2026

Train-A-Palooza #12 will occupy 14,000 square feet at the Grapevine Convention Center and runs Saturday and Sunday, March 14–15, 2026, with show hours 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Organizers with the Lone Star Hi-Railers Model Railroad Association report vendor tables are sold out, and admission will provide access to all layouts and the club’s signature baggage-car display both days.

Admission for adults is listed at $10 across event listings, while child pricing differs by source: one regional listing shows $2 for ages 11 to 18 with children under 10 free when accompanied by an adult, and a Fort Worth event feed lists free admission for children 12 and younger. Both listings and the event page say scouting organization members in uniform will be admitted free. Eventbrite hosts the ticketing page and states a no-refunds policy.

A centerpiece attraction is the Lone Star Hi-Railers three-rail O gauge layout inside a historic baggage car located in the Grapevine railyard area. The club’s site describes the baggage car as 70 feet long, while multiple press listings describe it as 65 feet long; Dallas kidsoutandabout adds that the car is a Barnum Bailey baggage car once pulled by a Southern steam locomotive. All sources agree the baggage-car layout is included with admission and is open during show hours both days.

Lone Star Hi-Railers members, local hobby stores, and private collectors will staff sales tables covering all gauges and accessories.

Logistics for attendees include the Grapevine Convention Center at 1209 S. Main St., Grapevine, TX 76051, one block north of the Highway 114/121 interchange, with free parking and nearby lodging options. The Lone Star Hi-Railers note the Grapevine Shuttle will run at no charge from the TexRail station to the convention center and the club’s baggage-car layout and back during show hours.

Family-focused details include Choo Choo Express trackless train rides in the parking lot and the presence of train-related toys on exhibit. The Lone Star Hi-Railers say the two-day show draws enthusiasts from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Kansas, and the club highlights that it has been located in Grapevine for more than 17 years and claims the largest membership of any model train club in the State of Texas.
