President Donald Trump publicly turned on four of conservative media's most recognizable figures Thursday, unleashing a roughly 480-word Truth Social tirade against Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones over their fierce opposition to his handling of the Iran war. The broadside exposed a deepening fault line inside his own political coalition and raised pointed questions about whether the "America First" noninterventionism that once animated his base retains any binding force when the commander in chief is the one pressing for military action.

In the post, Trump laid into the four personalities, calling them "NUT JOBS" and "TROUBLEMAKERS" with "Third Rate Podcasts" and "Low IQs." "Look at their past, look at their record. They don't have what it takes, and they never did!" he wrote. Trump also said they were "losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA," before dishing out personal insults, writing that Carlson "should see a good psychiatrist," calling Owens "crazy," and describing Jones as saying "some of the dumbest things."

Trump asserted, without evidence, that all four "think it is wonderful" for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. He further argued their dissent was irrelevant to his coalition, writing that his views had won him a presidential election "in a LANDSLIDE" and that "their views are the opposite of MAGA."

The attack came just days after Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. The clash had intensified after Trump warned on Truth Social that "a whole civilization will die tonight" in Iran, comments that fueled calls from conservative voices for the 25th Amendment to be invoked to remove him from office. Carlson had advised U.S. military officials to tell the president "no" if asked to carry out mass attacks on Iranian civilians. In his podcast, Carlson called Trump's threats about bombing bridges and power plants "vile on every level," in a monologue that ran 43 minutes. Kelly said on her show, "This is completely irresponsible and disgusting. I wish he would stop doing this. Like, he can't negotiate without doing this. What does that say about him?"

Owens called the Trump administration "satanic" and urged Congress to "have the Mad King Trump removed." Jones, days earlier, asked live on air: "How do we 25th Amendment his ass?" after Trump threatened to destroy Iranian civilian infrastructure. Jones had been one of Trump's most visible base validators; last week he said it was time to "cut bait" and told viewers he was watching the administration "sink and die."

In the past week, Carlson called on U.S. military aides to reject plans to kill Iranian civilians, while Owens said the Trump administration was "satanic" and urged Congress to have Trump removed. Kelly said on her podcast she was "sick of this," adding "you don't just threaten to wipe out an entire civilization."

The open dissent from figures aligned with the MAGA movement signals possible fractures in Trump's base as the Iran conflict and economic concerns deepen. Trump had campaigned explicitly on a promise of "no new wars," and the four commentators he attacked Thursday were among the loudest amplifiers of that message during the 2024 race. The Iran conflict has strained that coalition since its earliest days.

Whether Thursday's public dressing-down will silence the dissent or harden it will likely depend on how the fragile two-week ceasefire holds. For now, the president made clear he views the rebellion as a personal betrayal, not a principled policy debate.
