Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on East 32nd Street in Yuma
Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on east 32nd Street near Bici Park, highlighting safety concerns on a busy Yuma corridor.

Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on east 32nd Street near Bici Park shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2026, Yuma Police Department said. A 24-year-old man driving a Nissan Versa was seriously hurt and later flown to a Phoenix hospital after initial treatment in Yuma, and a 25-year-old man driving a Hyundai Genesis suffered minor injuries.
Police say the crash began when the Nissan driver "was making a left-hand turn from 32nd Street onto Winsor Avenue" and struck the Hyundai Genesis, which then collided with a parked vehicle, according to the YPD press release published by local media. The parked vehicle is described in the release as a 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse; investigators and reporters will verify the model year as authorities continue to assemble the full report.
First responders removed the Nissan driver from his vehicle and took him to Onvida Health in Yuma in serious condition, and he was subsequently flown to a Phoenix hospital for further care. The Hyundai driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. YPD stated that "While neither impairment nor speed appeared to be factors in the crash, the investigation remains ongoing."
The crash occurred on a section of east 32nd Street that residents and businesses use for daily commutes and access to nearby parks. Multiple recent incidents on or near the 32nd Street corridor have prompted public concern about roadway safety; a separate and unrelated head-on collision at East 32nd Street and Avenue 6E on April 13 resulted in fatalities, underscoring the corridor's safety challenges and the stakes for local traffic planning. Those incidents are distinct and under separate investigations.
For residents with information, the Yuma Police Department asked the public to contact them. "If anyone has information regarding the crash, call YPD at (928) 783-4421, or 78-CRIME at (928) 782-7463 to remain anonymous." Providing tips can help investigators reconstruct the crash sequence and inform any follow-up enforcement or engineering responses.
The immediate local implications include emergency response impacts during morning commute hours and renewed scrutiny of left-turn maneuvers at the Winsor Avenue intersection. City and county traffic engineers, law enforcement, and elected officials face decisions about whether targeted measures - such as signal timing adjustments, turn restrictions, improved signage, or increased enforcement - are warranted on this stretch of 32nd Street. For now, Yuma Police continue their investigation and the community should expect updates as crash reports and medical information are confirmed.
