VISIONF Delivers Gloriamaris: Solar-Electric E-Cat 80 Built for Exploration

VISIONF Yachts has delivered its second fully solar-electric E-Cat 80, Gloriamaris, a 24-metre lightweight carbon-fibre catamaran configured as a semi-custom exploration platform for extended cruising. The build emphasizes quiet, low-emission operation, onboard redundancy for bluewater passages, and owner-driven features aimed at remote destinations.

Propulsion centers on twin Danfoss 180 kW electric motors designed for close-quarters maneuverability and smooth cruising, with typical cruise speeds in the 6-8 knot range. The new build expands solar capacity to 63 high-output panels, cited as producing around 25.2 kW/h under ideal conditions, tied into a large battery bank to maximize periods of fully electric navigation and minimize generator hours.
