Vita3K published a series of CI snapshot builds and fixes during the first week of March 2026. Build artifacts and AppImages were posted to the Vita3K builds repository and community mirrors around March 1–3, 2026; the snapshots are experimental CI artifacts rather than a formal stable release, and the Android build line was merged into master as Build 21, bumping the main version to v0.2.1.

The March artifacts follow a flurry of development work from mid-December 2025 through early January 2026. Key repository activity includes gui/ime: Fix item ID conflict of 'V' key on Dec 16, 2025 by Dicot0721 and bookmist; a Dec 26, 2025 ci: Ignore Markdown files commit by Dicot0721; and a util/tracy: Prevent crash caused by exceeding Tracy module limit on Dec 27, 2025 by Zangetsu38 and bookmist. The CI pipeline itself was refactored on Jan 5, 2026 in a ci: Refactor and optimize CI workflow commit authored by KhoraLee and Zangetsu38, work that enabled the snapshot artifacts now landing in March.

Audio and compatibility changes are prominent in this snapshot tranche. The repository shows that Library cubeb was added as a new audio backend in PR #2225 to provide low-latency cross-platform audio, initially as a workaround for SDL audio corruption on Android, and the release notes state that at this time both backends work. A Dec 29, 2025 audio/sdl: Increase audio buffer size to improve playback quality commit and an audio: Fix set volume in open_port. commit by Zangetsu38 address playback and volume issues. Pull #2668, authored by Macdu, is credited with eliminating crackling in the Persona dancing games and pushing those titles to Playable status. The notes also preserve historical AAC work at #808 and #1686 and improved atrac9 handling for LittleBigPlanet, TALES games, and WipEout.

Rendering and frontend configurability were advanced as well: on Dec 29, 2025 a gui&config: Add support of custom config of backend-render commit by Zangetsu38 and Macdu added custom backend-render configuration, and an Implement FSR upscaler entry at #2596 brings AMD FSR-style upscaling into the codebase. Multimedia robustness was bolstered by Codec/h264: protect send with mutex to avoid flush race on Dec 29, 2025 by Zangetsu38 and other stability fixes such as util/tracy crash prevention.

Android integration and platform support are explicit threads in the release. The project notes state, “Build 21 is now available, and our main version is bumped to v0.2.1. The Android code is now fully merged into the master, meaning there is a single unified repository from now on.” The Android commits include android: Support 16 KB page sizes on Jan 3, 2026 and android: Update NDK from r27 to r27d on Jan 4, 2026 by Dicot0721 and Zangetsu38, plus UI fixes such as added PS button support and corrected overlay positioning. The team cautions users: “It’s also important to set expectations: this release does not bring major Android-specific performance or feature improvements. This is essentially the Android code from v12 ported and rebased onto the latest master.” The release also warns that “this build is still WIP (work in progress), so you may encounter bugs or instability.”

Platform expansions include feat: Add ARM64 Linux support for Vita3K on Jan 5, 2026 by mrcmunir and Zangetsu38, a modules/SceNet: Implement sceNetGetMacAddress for macOS commit on Jan 5 by KhoraLee and Zangetsu38, and a net: Implement linux version of sceNetGetMacAddress entry on Dec 29, 2025 by EXtremeExploit. GUI improvements across multiple commits address dialog positioning and welcome/about window sizing with gui/about&initial&welcome dialog: Fix position and refactor window size on Dec 29, 2025 by Zangetsu38.

The project message to the community acknowledged a hiatus: “We also want to apologize for the long silence — Macdu has been busy with another project, which limited updates over the past year. 🎄✨ Happy Holidays!” The March CI snapshots give contributors and testers artifacts to validate the December–January fixes and feature work, but the release notes do not include exact filenames, checksums, or architecture-target details for the AppImages and Mac builds; those specifics remain to be confirmed in the builds repository and community mirrors. Contributors named repeatedly in the changelog include Zangetsu38, Macdu, KhoraLee, Dicot0721, bookmist, SpikeHD, mrcmunir, and EXtremeExploit, anchoring the technical changes that produced these March 1–3 CI snapshot artifacts.
