Walnut Creek Marketplace, formerly Amish Flea Market, opens March 5 in Sugarcreek
Walnut Creek Marketplace reopened March 5 at 1900 State Route 39 in Sugarcreek, bringing roughly 60 vendors, weekend crowds and a new on-site Winetagous winery and brewery.

Walnut Creek Marketplace reopened its doors March 5 at 1900 State Route 39 in Sugarcreek, reviving the indoor shopping complex formerly billed as the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market for the 2026 season. The market is operating Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the market site says the season runs from March through mid-December, a schedule that the market and regional listings are advertising for visitors from two hours away in Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh.
The market’s footprint and recent growth are described differently across sources. The market’s own site promotes "over 60,000 square feet dedicated to Ohio's Amish Country tourism," OhioSamishCountry reported the climate-controlled indoor market at 55,000 square feet after two expansions in 11 years, and WLWT has reported the complex at more than 80,000 square feet following a recent expansion. Market management can be reached at 330-852-0181 to confirm which measurement represents current leasable or gross indoor space.
Vendor merchandise and on-site services span handcrafted Amish furniture and quilts, refurbished antique drill bits and gas cans, clothing, jewelry, jerky, German-roasted nuts and kettle-roasted potato chips, according to OhioSamishCountry and WLWT. The market lists roughly 60 vendors in regional coverage and OhioSamishCountry said, "On average, more than 2,000 cars packed with enthusiastic shoppers pull into the market’s parking lot each weekend" to visit those vendors. The complex also offers non-retail services, including a licensed reflexologist and a massage therapist, and food service: breakfast and lunch in a cafeteria prepared by an Amish couple with additional Amish baking available.
Ashley Spears, the market manager quoted in OhioSamishCountry, framed the vendor strategy and origin story: "We pride ourselves on the fact we have item exclusiveness," Spears said, and she added, "If I have a vendor who has something, I’m not going to bring in another who does the same thing." Spears also recounted that the owners "bought this land before they knew what they would do with it" and that vendors encouraged building the market by saying, "If you build a flea market, we will come."

Amenities aimed at larger tour groups and families are prominent in visitor materials. Tourism listings describe the market as one-level and air-conditioned, bus friendly, handicap accessible and pet-friendly, with over five acres of parking and parking shuttle buses that run every day. Cometowalnutcreekohio highlights two large-screen TVs airing sports, an outdoor playground, live animals and indoor and outdoor seating areas for shoppers who spend extended time on site.
A notable addition for 2026 is Winetagous Winery & Brewery, listed on the market’s site and described by WLWT as an on-site winery and brewery that will operate Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and host live entertainment on the second of each month until 10:00 p.m. The market’s own pages include a live entertainment schedule and weekly giveaways, and visitors are encouraged to check those listings for specific dates and performers.
Walnut Creek Marketplace lists its hours and contact phone at the Sugarcreek address and says it welcomes families, pets and tour buses through mid-December. The market’s reopening brings the indoor complex back into regular seasonal operation with dozens of vendors, food and new beverage offerings for visitors to Amish Country.
