Wizards Reveals All Cards in Roll for Initiative Superdrop: Seven D&D Drops
Wizards of the Coast revealed full card lists for Secret Lair: Roll for Initiative, a seven-drop D&D-themed Superdrop arriving Feb 9 at 9 a.m. PT; pricing and bundle options were published.

Wizards of the Coast revealed every card in Secret Lair: Roll for Initiative, a seven-drop Secret Lair Superdrop themed around Dungeons & Dragons that will hit the Secret Lair storefront on February 9, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT. The announcement spoils the full lineup and gives players and collectors a clear snapshot of what to expect before the drops open.
The seven named drops are Shadowheart’s Devotion, Gale’s Ambition, Black Lights & Dark Dungeons, Shadows Over Baldur’s Gate, Whispers in Candlekeep, Strahd’s Descent, and Lands of the Forgotten Realms. Two drops have full public card lists: Shadowheart’s Devotion includes Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar; Beseech the Queen; Black Market; Victimize; and Ancient Bronze Dragon. Gale’s Ambition includes Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy; Arcane Denial; Archmage's Charm; Brainstorm; Personal Tutor; and basic lands listed as 2x Plains, 2x Island, 2x Swamp, 2x Mountain, 2x Forest.
Each individual drop will be sold in non-foil for $29.99 and foil for $39.99. Wizards also listed three bundle options: the Bag of Holding non-foil bundle for $199.99, the Chromatic Dragon’s Hoard Foil bundle for $269.99, and the All Dice Cast bundle at $464.99, which is advertised to include all seven drops in non-foil and foil variants. Beckett framed the pricing context, saying, “Coming on the heels of the recent Chaos Vault experiment, which featured unconventional tiered pricing, this superdrop marks a return to the standard Secret Lair pricing structure of $29.99 for non-foil editions and $39.99 for foils.”
Community reaction and value calculus are front and center. Beckett’s early reprint-value estimates highlight uneven financial returns across the drops: “For the standard $29.99 non-foil entry price, you’re getting roughly $51 to $53 in reprint equity” on Shadows Over Baldur’s Gate, while “Gale’s Ambition is the outlier of the superdrop when it comes to raw numbers. Financially, it’s a bit of a dud with only $9 in estimated reprint value, propped up mostly by Personal Tutor.” Mtgrocks underscored the contrast between market value and collectible flavor, noting, “Outside of this card, the rest of the drop barely manages to break $2 altogether. With End the Festivities selling for the most at $0.84, this drop falls off hard,” and adding that “On the plus side, the flavor and theming of this drop is arguably the best of the entire Roll for Initiative Superdrop. While it is hard to beat shirtless god Gale, having cards be renamed here is definitely a nice bonus.” Mtgrocks also praised the imagery, saying, “If you’ve seen the Godlike depiction of Gale on Archmage’s Charm, you’ll understand why blue mages are already reaching for their wallets.”

Bell of Lost Souls advised shoppers to prepare for a quick sellout and recommended account readiness: “You might want to make sure you’ve got your Wizards Account ready so that you can join the pre-queue at 8am PT to get ready for the queue-queue to checkout at 9.” Alex Atkin framed the timing as part of a larger conversation about recent release experiments: “Yesterday, Wizards of the Coast pissed off a lot of MTG players. In a new pay-what-you-want Chaos Vault drop, Wizards exacerbated FOMO concerns, instantly angering the community. Today, as if to try and earn back some goodwill, Wizards of the Coast announced a brand new Secret Lair Superdrop.”
What this means for players is simple: decide whether you value reprint equity or the D&D flavor pieces. If you want to chase specific cards or the Gale and Shadowheart art, plan to have your Wizards account signed in and be ready for the 8 a.m. PT pre-queue. If you are weighing buy decisions, compare the bundle math against individual prices and remember that Beckett and Mtgrocks flag wide variance in secondary-market value across the seven drops. The Superdrop lands on February 9 at 9 a.m. PT, and for many collectors and Commander players, the roll for initiative will determine which pieces of lore and cardboard make it into their collection.
