YouTube is using its 11th consecutive year streaming Coachella to debut a product that looks less like a livestream and more like a television network. When the festival opens at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 10, viewers will be able to tune into "Coachella TV," a continuously running channel built on YouTube's new Stations feature, programmed with archival performances from the festival's history alongside live highlights from the 2026 edition headlined by Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G.

The Stations feature gives fans access to a 24/7 interactive and uninterrupted music viewing experience that functions like a traditional linear television channel, running whether or not a stage is actively streaming. The Coachella TV station will be updated with performance highlights following each weekend, giving it a rolling editorial logic that extends the festival's commercial footprint well beyond its six live days across April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19.

The timing is strategically deliberate. The global FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) market was valued at $10.6 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $12.2 billion in 2026, and YouTube is positioning Stations as its answer to that lean-back viewing category, one that competitors like Pluto TV and Tubi have captured through scheduled, always-on channels. By anchoring the feature's debut to one of the most-watched live events on the platform, YouTube is signaling that Stations is not a peripheral experiment but a core product bet.

The living room is already where Coachella's digital audience gathers: last year, over half of the festival's total livestream watchtime came from TV screens. The Multiview feature, which lets viewers stream up to four stages simultaneously and toggle between audio feeds, is designed to deepen that couch-viewing experience. Coachella TV sits alongside Multiview as part of a broader push to capture passive viewing time, the hours between sets when an audience might otherwise switch off.

The 2026 stream will cover seven stages simultaneously, with the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, and Sahara broadcasting in 4K for the first time. The Quasar stage will stream in both horizontal and vertical formats, with the vertical feed shot on a Pixel device. A "Watch With" interactive series returns for weekend two, pairing creators with specific artists: Valkyrae alongside KATSEYE, Terry and Kaniyia with Karol G, and Daniel Wall covering Fujii Kaze.

For advertisers, the architecture matters as much as the audience. Weekend one is sponsored by NYX Professional Makeup, T-Mobile, SONIC, and 20th Century Studios; weekend two brings in Tide Evo and Coach. A continuously running Coachella TV channel extends those sponsorship windows far beyond the hours when any headline act is onstage, creating the kind of ambient inventory that has made FAST channels attractive to brand buyers seeking reach without the cost of scripted programming.

The festival itself sold out both weekends within seven days of the September 2025 lineup announcement, the first complete sellout since 2019. For the millions who could not get tickets, YouTube's expanding broadcast infrastructure is the only way in. Coachella TV turns that constraint into a product.
