Rockland Pickleball Club opens indoor home for local players
Rockland County got eight cushioned indoor courts, replay tech and bookable hours from 7 a.m. to midnight, giving local players a year-round home base.

Rockland County players now have something the weather can’t take away: a dedicated indoor pickleball home with eight cushioned courts, replay technology and court bookings available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to midnight. That is the real value of Rockland Pickleball Club in Valley Cottage, where the ribbon was cut Monday morning at a facility built for year-round play, not just fair-weather traffic.
The club marked its public grand opening weekend March 14-15 at 704 Executive Boulevard in Valley Cottage, then returned this week for a formal ribbon-cutting that turned a soft opening into an official checkpoint for the county’s pickleball boom. Co-owner Rich Blasetti, part of a husband-and-wife ownership team from Westchester County, said the early response has already been strong. “I'm happy that we're finally here. Construction's over. We've been open for a couple months now. The community absolutely loves us,” Blasetti said.

That reaction makes sense because the club is selling access, not just square footage. The app-based reservation system gives players a way to lock in time without fighting over park-court availability, and the long operating window makes it easier to play before work, after work or late at night. For recreational players, that means more reliable drop-in options. For serious amateurs, it means a place to drill, review points with the PodPlay replay system and build regular runs without worrying about rainouts or cracked outdoor surfaces.
The timing also fits a market that is still expanding. The Sports & Fitness Industry Association estimated that pickleball had 19.8 million U.S. players in 2024, and Rockland County is now trying to keep pace. Another indoor project in New City was expected to bring 28,000 square feet and nine cushioned courts, while Rockland Pickleball Club has already lined up higher-level competition of its own.

That next step comes June 18-21, when the club is set to host Moneyball Madness with singles, doubles and mixed doubles across multiple skill divisions. The listing advertises a $1,500 winner-take-all prize pool across four divisions, a clear sign that Valley Cottage is not just adding courts, but building a place where local players can actually stay in rhythm all year.
